it's too late to not report to the manager. what we do outside of work it irrelevant, what we do inside is.

i'm not this guys boss or anything, hell by also being a supervisor he's actually above me on the corporate ladder. i've also never bought the us vs. them attitude between employees and managers. i was mostly wondering as a way of trying to gauge backlash, where they'll likely keep his gf as an employee but can him. so i'm basically mentally prepping for the **** splatter now.

it's not that they're looking for reasons to ditch the guy, they're hoping that a change will spur him to actually give an honest try at his job and maybe pay more attention to what he's paid to do than facebook. he's making the choice not to.

last night was not the first time he came to work ****ed up.

i don't think i'm getting paid enough for this crap

Is it so obvious that people are now looking at you to report it? If that's the case, you don't have a choice. Otherwise, I would go with the warning him directly thing then report it if it happens again. Being a smoker myself, I would hope I was extended that courtesy...especially by a fellow smoker. Sadly, smoking ganj at work is a common thing (at least everywhere I have worked). There is always one guy that just can't wait until he gets home. I'm like you, dave, where I keep my smoking activities in the home. It makes it more rewarding that way...after a long day's work I get to relax at night with a bowl. Smoking all day everyday just makes it seem like a dependency.

Stoning and working is sorta like drinking and working. It's not done and it's not fair on others but as duga says, if possible, say to them where the score stands rather than going straight to the man.

I had to spend 60 days in restriction in the military for not giving up a few people's names that were drinking underage at a party I was at...I even had beef with one of the guys.

If I could go back and do it over, I would still keep my mouth shut. It may be a different situation as I was doing wrong as well, but I was brought up to mind my own and let people be directly responsible for their own downfall.

What???
You got in trouble for not ratting on people? I seriously want to find the punishment for that in the UCMJ... I would have brought that to JAG.

So just out of curiosity has anyone else tried this stuff called Spice? It's a collection of herbs, one of which is blue lotus, but the rest is stuff I've never heard of and cannot spell to save my life. It also apparently has some kind of synthetic cannabinoid that mimics the effects of marijuana really fuc*ing well. It's also legal in all states but Kansas (yeah but Evolution is illegal there too) and is a little bit more expensive than pot but not by much. Has anyone else tried this stuff before and if so what was your experience like? (sorry to ask that in the form of a school question)

Soon to be illegal in Louisiana.
The bill is expected to be signed soon, if it hasn't been already.
I'd expect that it won't be long before all the states ban it. Anything like that, that gets as much media coverage as this stuff does, is bound to get the attention of state government.

I don't expect it will remain legal in the US for much longer, as you said the more mainstream attention it gets the more likely Fox News will do a special report on how it's killing kids and whatnot. I'm actually quite happy with it, I may even get myself a dugout again and just carry a little bit of this on me. A joint of this stuff makes me retarded, but a few hits on the dugout would be more than enough for me to get floaty, but functional, perfect for the hours between classes. Also as long as it remains legal I don't really have to worry as much as if I was carrying pot on me.

It is pretty amazing that this stuff still is legal though, as my friends pointed out last night. Besides the taste the high is pretty much the exact same for me as it is with pot, the big difference is the speed in which I get into full high mode. With pot I get a little bit more stoned with each hit off the joint/bong/pipe whatever until it's finished and I am in my full stoned phase. With Spice, it takes a little longer for me to feel it, but it just turns on like a light switch and it gets pretty intense for a few minutes. It also finishes just as fast as it starts, I mean I can feel it starting to wear off, but when it's over, it's over. My friend and I made the mistake of not waiting for the high to come over us on Friday and smoked another bowl immediately after the first one, which definitely tipped my buddy over the edge a little bit. For a good 20 minutes or so I could only do short sentences, I had a very limited memory, and had some trouble piecing together the plot of the movie we were watching. Other than that I really enjoyed the trip.
