That's basically the synopsis of some of the research I've done on the topic, my friend and I had this argument about 2 years ago, turns out he was right. Basically, smoking from pure/clean aluminum, you're fine so long as you don't do it everyday for 20 years. But, when the aluminum is coated with chemicals and other products, all bets are off. A lot of aluminum foil is coated with non-stick products, which are usually safe because it is made for cooking. However, aluminum pop cans can be treated with several different types of chemicals during the sealing/labeling that may or may not be hazardous to inhale, as well as not being heat resistant. Overall, I say if you're going to smoke out of aluminum, use foil. Not cans.

I have done so many drugs, I haven't smoked crack or shot heroin. I've snorted heroin though, and coke is the greatest.
I don't smoke weed though because I don't like it. |

The peice we are using is pretty much just a wood block with a hole on the top and then on the bottom right it has a hole to inhale, but there isn't a screen. What can I use as a screen? Last edited by BTown; 04-21-2010 at 03:53 PM. |

On friday we were gonna be in the forst, now the plans have changed and its at my house. It's hard to explain but there's a large area of pine trees seperating my y pond and my house and we woudl go on the side closest to the pond at night so no one could see us. behind the pine tress theres a big grassy clearing where we have a bonfire and chairs and stuff.
I don't think anyone will be nervous because we are all great friends and know each other really well. We already discussed peer rpeasure and we told our other friends about it and some said they didn't want to and we said it was cool. There's 3 kids hwo will be there who have done it and 3 (including me) who haven't. |

This is actually something I have agree with tore on. You misunderstand about the anxiety. You won't mind being around your friends at all, but weed definitely produces paranoia, especially with first timers. Maybe it won't be you, but I guarantee you at least one person in your group will start flipping out. Or at the very least be really annoying because of it.
You really just get paranoid of being caught, and even though in your sober state you know there is no possibility of it, once the paranoia hits every sound becomes someone coming to catch you in the act. This paranoia can easily spread to the rest of the group. I guess the best advice I can give for this is have a way to play music...some awesome tunes to distract everyone are essential. Your brain gets so preoccupied with how awesome it sounds that you don't even worry about anything else. At least, that's how it has gone in my experience. And if you do feel the freak out coming, just latch on to the music. Meditate to it. Make it your world and get lost in it. You can't go wrong.

Thanks duga, nice to see some recognition of this While it may not be a problem for experienced users, I think many teenage pot-newbs are both prone to having smoking induced anxiety while at the same time not emotionally prepared/able to deal with it, especially if they have no knowledge about smoking affecting people that way and don't recognize what's going on when/if it happens.
I think many smokers prefer to not talk about it, perhaps because they don't wanna think too much about it when they smoke or make others (like first-timers) think about it since it can ruin enjoyment, but on the other hand it sucks to experience something like it without any kind of knowledge something like it could happen. To me, it makes more sense to inform about the possibility and give some tips on how to deal with it, like you have.

When I used to smoke alot of grass, I'd be fine all night but when it came to going home I'd be really paranoid, because my brother used to do alot of it, and my parents could always tell instantly when he was stoned. That's why I got a little paranoid. But now if I had to I wouldn't be para at all I don't think. It's been a loooong 4months though.
