Lol on the base? Its called an article 112a-wrongful use of a controlled substance. Then they can tack on addition charges such as introduction of a controlled substance to (every place you have ever been on that base or boat)
. Then they can hit you with intent to sell, and about 10 other things. Not to say I have been in that situation, but it can come out many many many charges resulting in an 'Other than Honorable' discharge.

No you were right, I ment in any military situation. And thats harsh. Of coarse its perfectly fine for everyone to get smashed whenever they want. Brilliant laws if you ask me.

It isnt, at least in the Navy. I spent a total of 180 days in 'Restriction' there for numerous things, but the first was Underage Drinking. Which is ridiculous, almost 4 years ago to the day. Having a small get together with some friends, maybe 5-6 people total, for the thanksgiving holiday, our first away from home. I had just cracked my first beer and this a-hole broke a window so I left. Later was told on and brought in for questioning, told them I had finished about half a beer then went home. They told me if I were to tell them who else was there they would let me be, which completely contradicts everything they teach you about being a good 'shipmate'. In the end I spend 60 days in a room with a bed and a toilet. Was locked up for Xmas, new years and all.

I honestly thought the Navy was about boozin, gettin tats, and nailing foreign broads. boy was I wrong. I got in trouble for the other two as well, ha ha.

Thats another big problem Im sure you dont agree with. Your given this insane amount of responsibility (knowledge that you will have to do the nasty, and a firearm) and meanwhile your being hassled because of a night out with some friends.

That was one of my biggest arguments. How am I responsible enough to drive a multi-billion dollar sub, carry firearms, control and maintain a fucking nuclear reactor, but cant drink half a damn beer.

Yup, I hear not all branches are as German as the Nav, but ah well. Its really just a slight hint at all of American Gov't IMO. Just legalize weed already.

Personally Id settle with just decriminalization. At least then the threat of having your future ruined and wallet empty is gone.

I'd love that just the same. How far are you from the Poconos? I have some gift cards that expire pretty soon for hotels there, I was going to go next year for a nascar race or o bet on the horses, and we should def neet up if you are not too far.
