Europeans , they still haven't figured out that cigarettes are bad for you.

both groups seem to think that smoking is cool, so they'll both probably still smoke a shit-ton of cigarettes.

Well thats hard to change. We can thank the movies/media, and tobacco company lobbyists for that.:soapbox:

Pfft, scapegoats. We have no one to blame but the smokers.

Is allright. I spent all morning making a fantastic chicken. Added god knows how many spices, soaked in the best of seasoning and gravy; then put it in the oven only to fall asleep. Of coarse upon waking up the room was smokey and the chicken was black.

Oh i know they're bad for you, but stopping is the problem. I've tried tablets, patches and everything but nothing really works, i cant help but light up.

garbanzo 03-05-2009 05:57 AM

you won't be able to quit until you truly want to. when i finally made the decision out of the blue, i used the patches for two months and managed to stop after 10 years of pack-a-day smoking. that was 2 years ago and i'm still going strong.

the actual physical nicotine addiction is easy, your body gets over that in 2-3 days. it's the mental addiction that kills.

Guybrush 03-05-2009 06:22 AM

I stopped cold turkey after smoking for 7 years. A lot of my friends did the same, but very few managed to quit. Or, they did quit .. but then they started smoking rarely like only at parties - and so further down the line, they were back to start. After I quit, I never smoked and I think that's why I managed so well compared to them.

edit :

As garbanzo wrote, the physical addiction wasn't so bad. I was "hungry" for a long time and have gone up quite a few kilos since then, but since I was so thin, my weight is more like the average norwegian now.
