Problem
I'm on a different computer now to my home one and I've only just managed to get on here after a few days. Recently my own computer has been having real bad problems loading up the site and says it can't connect to the server or some other computer terminology idk. Basically it's just the page you get when it's taking too long to load.
It just seems to be my compter after being on this different one, I even searched for MB on Google and tried to get on it their to see if one of my links was funked, but I still couldn't get on. Anybody know why this could be or if I'm not the only one with the problem? |
Two days ago MB went down to a database error. Have you tried getting on with you're home pc since?
|
Have tried getting on it with both Internet Explorer and Firefox, no joy with either.
Right now I'm having to go through VTunnel to access the site. |
You could try restarting firefox, and uh...
deleting your cookies? |
Nope, nothing appears to be working.
:\ |
Have a wank until everything becomes better

Hmm, thanks for that synapse. Problem solved!
No, but srsly? |
Every so often for some reason you can't log onto the site. I've had it happen 3 or 4 times & plenty of other people have had it happen to them.
Nobody seems to know what causes it , and it usually passes after 3 or 4 days. |
This has been going on for well over a week now, anymore suggestions or help? It's goddamn annoying!

More information...
Is it just MusicBanter your having problems with or other sites too? Describe the error you get when it times out. |
It's just this one and it says there's a problem loading the page becuase the server's not found.
|
Try this. I'll assume you have no idea and type the steps below. (just to save time)
From the start menu. All programs> Accessories> System Tools> Disc Cleanup. Click the Temporary Internet Files box and run it. |
The same thing is happening to everyone I think. Every once and a while the page can't load, then you press the reload button and it does...:\
|
Yes, but it's happening to Mouse continually. When it goes down, it goes down for more or less everyone at the same time.
Plus it works on other pc's she's used at the time the other doesn't. |
get a new computer
|
Oh....no idea then...*scurries away*
|
Even the homepage can make a difference.
Mouse (if it's not already) make Google you're homepage, then Google 'MusicBanter'. |
It does that to me when I'm using AOL but its fine for me on internet explorer.......but you said you've tried IE so I have no clue. Maybe your computer is "backasswards" and maybe it'll work if you get AOL?
|
Yeah but I don't like AOL it's kinda sucky. Also I don't get why it's suddenly not working after working correctly for so long.
And I've tried everything right-track has said, thanks for the help btw. |
Is it still not working?
|
Click Start --> Run...
Type cmd in the box and click OK. Type: ping www.musicbanter.co.uk then press enter. You should get 4 replies. If not type: ping 70.86.51.100 then press enter. You should get 4 replies. Post the results of the above and we'll work from there. Dave |

Sorry I haven't responded sooner.
Is it only MB you cannot access? There are a few possible causes. One is your ISP has an incorrect DNS entry (the database that translates the www.musicbanter.com bit into the actual computer address). The other is a spyware issue (the IP address returned when you typed www.musicbanter.com actually points to a server hosting adult content). It sounds fixable, but I would have to remote desktop into your PC, which might not work with your network issues, and you might not want to do anyway. PM or MSN me if you want help. Dave |
can you ping Google?
