I have just checked out HAMMERFALL for the first time. How completely unoriginal is this? Kudos to you for liking metal, but this does'nt say anything new to me at all, and I like metal bands that try something different (except those bands I liked originally). Metal is my first love, but they have to be different for me to get into them these days. i'm going to give the other bands a listen too.

I don't know most of those bands you mentioned, so I have a feeling they suck. They very well may not, but they probably do.

UFOMAMMUT or bust.

...wait...what? You know of Blind Guardian. That hardly makes you a "goddess".

and Proggyman and djchameleon, check out Shade Empire. One of the few symphonic bm bands that does it well and doesn't stray into the land of cheese much like Dimmu Borgir has been doing for the past 5 years

Only ones worth jamming are Sonata Arctica and Finntroll (some at least)

Virgin Black are more Goth Metal really. They basically never have any lyrics so it's not poserish Goth.

Why do you have to go and be an ass? Do I have to mention obscure bands to be "cool"?
Also favorites:
Dark Moor
Stratovarius
Bal-Sagoth
Beseech
Anathema
Evoken
Rhapsody of Fire
Lacrimosa
Katatonia
Kamelot
Malice Mizer
Therion
Symphony X
Celtic Frost
Chthonic
Lake of Tears
Theatres Des Vampires

....and others. I'm not going to sit there and right away name off the most obscure bands I can in order to impress. I think my music library would suprise a lot of the MB comm.

Also, I only stated that Blind Guardian is quite possibly one of the most popular symph. metal bands out there and I always be sure to mention them when asked favorite bands because, outside of a music forum, fans are suprised to meet other fans, let alone a GIRL fan. It's not a popular genre in Michigan.

P.S./EDIT: I was also completely blazed last night when I wrote that. I think I'm better than God when I smoke.
