I do that sometimes, its a bad habit. Last summer there I made friends with a German kid who tried to break the habit by only talking to me when I spoke a degree of intelligence. It worked until he flew back to Germany.

Depending on the circumstances though.
If I suddenly acquired a female friend and began hanging around with her (one on one), my wife would want to know why.

And I seriously don't think a "we're just mates", would cut any ice.

i think its REALLY hard to be just friends with a guy
any guy ive ever been friends with ive always wanted more
then i got over it & decided just to be friends
so i dont think its impossible, just a little hard
