Maybe it's a regional thing.

No it's me being an arse! However what you say is right. Every post does'nt have to be perfectly correct but it at least has to make sense and have some semblance of coherence.

Surely if you are coming on a forum and writing in text speak & shorthand and you are basically just writing jibberish all the time so that nobody takes you seriously, that would be a bigger waste of life.

I'm pretty sure the only reason mister Wisdom is wasting his time here is to promote his website. Hence the lack of concern about being taken seriously.

Before I decided to join Music Banter I read quite a lot of the material posted in here, and tried to get a feel for the veterans/mods and the general atmosphere of your forum. I couldn't agree more, it takes very little effort to compose coherent sentences that reflect some intelligent/humorous thought, I find that I gloss over the text shorthand but pay attention to the posts that people took some pride in writing. As for abbreviations,,,LOL,,,I'm still new at all this stuff, so I go to wikipedia or ask one of my friends when I come across one that I've never seen before. Sometimes the context is enough for me to figure it out and it's been fun to learn this new language.
