Hung, drawn and quartered was England's favourite public torture and subsequent death for Johnny foreigner.
Reserved usually for our Scottish neighbours. 1. Hung until unconscious, then cut down. 2. Drawn. This entails the cutting open of the belly and removing the victims intestines and burning them in front of his/her eyes on a hot plate. This would occasionally include the removal of the sexual organs...depending on the crime. 3. And finally, to answer your question...quartered. To be cut into 4 parts, each of which would be carried to the four corners of the country and displayed for all to see. |

True facts.
During the Great Potato Famine/Great Hunger, (Irish: An Gorta Mór or An Drochshaol) in Ireland between 1845 and 1849. Irish immigrants crossed the Irish sea from Dublin to Liverpool. The intelligent, honest and hard working amongst them travelled a further 32 miles inland to Manchester and contributed to the building of the worlds first industrial city and whose sons now make up 35% of the population. The work shy, feckless and criminally insane remained in Liverpool, where the spawn of these low life degenerates remain to this very day. True story. |
