Yeah, you've probably seen it all over the news if you live in the US. I don't know who was injured or killed yet, but I do know a lot of people there. Pretty awful.

yea, i mean apparently he did it all because his girlfriend dumped his ass.
how ****ing bad is the security at vt? 32 people killed, and dozens more injured before he killed himself correct?

I've read like three stories on it and havn't heard a thing about him doing it because his girlfriend dumped him. Its been mentioned alot he was pretty disturbed and messed up.

And its not like he ran around the whole building killing people, while security guards sat behind and watched it on the video cameras. He killed two people in one area (they think it was him) then two hours later went to the fourth floor and shot a bunch of people as well as chained some doors and shit.

Looking at different news reports, the matter of being dumped doesn't seem so relevant (do people believe this guy had a girlfriend who was anything other than imaginary?). What seemed to be the main factors in this were.

1. He was crazy.
2. He was able to buy many guns and lots of ammo.
3. Despite being crazy.

In the UK you get reports of somebody who was nuts but wasn't locked away, going on a violent spree in which their able to get hold of a knife, they kill some old man with it and stab some random girl in the arm before other passers by wade in and kick the **** out of the guy. This is a lot more difficult when you're dealing with guns.

The whole "right to bear arms" as a form of self-defense is stupid, because that assumes that you are going to carry the gun with you at all times and more importantly it assumes that if somebody else comes at you with a gun that your own gun will somehow help you to dodge their bullet. Guns are generally are much more useful for killing people than they are for defending yourself from being killed.

If people were really just interested in protecting themselves, how come you don't see more people wearing helmets and chainmail and carrying shields around? Those things can defend you from bullets. Guns can't.

well i heard something about how they didn't send out any alarm, or warning untill quite a while after the first gun-shots had been shot.

i haven't been following the story very closely though.

okay, read the story.

apparently there was another shooting on campus 2 hrs prior, but allegedly it was a different killer.

still, 2 hrs is a long time...

Yeah they should've alerted the students as soon as possible even if they thought it was just a domestic dispute.

I just finished listening to O'Riley explain it all lol. He claimed that it had to deal with the gf dumping him and that he hated the 'rich kids' as he was an impoverished foreigner who was on a student visa. It's really saddening to see such a thing as this, the news said that it is the worst shooting in American history.

And I thought: My God... the genius of that.
