Here's another topic: Why do teens almost always rebel against their parents?
Well, the teen age is one where the person is in a transitional state. They're about to break free from the reliance of their parent's and become independent. Your parents still want to parent you, those last few years before you move out, because no matter how much you grow up, they will always be your parents. People should feel privileged to be able to rebel, because that probably means your parents are trying to control you, which at least means they care. Parents must learn to draw the line, and let their kids become their own person at some point. But, before they draw the line, or before you move out, they want to instill their beliefs into you. Also, recent scientific studies have shown that the teenager's brain isn't as advanced as once thought, and most teens have an unstoppable need to fit in, and resisting peer pressure is virtually impossible for most of them. Heh, now I don't feel as bad. |

caliper
/kalipr/ (also calliper) • noun 1 (also calipers) a measuring instrument with two hinged legs and in-turned or out-turned points. 2 a motor-vehicle or bicycle brake consisting of two or more hinged components. 3 a metal support for a person’s leg. calibur...no such word. |

dude. A speaker at my school came to speak to students about the brain and rebellion, all that ****. Not really a philosophy issue again.
All I got from it was don't drink, have sex instead. And masturbate until you pass out, then continue masturbating when you wake up.

Christ TheUsedToolGuy can you quit fucking speaking for entire groups of people? I didn't have a great childhood and i'm way too thin, I have a friend whos had a way worse childhood then me and hes just as thin as I am, though he is bigger.
Fat people are fat because they're lazy and eat too much. I don't care how shitty your childhood was, you're lazy and you eat too much your childhood won't change that. I'm tired of people blaming they're issues on a bad childhood, I doubt anyone has had a perfect childhood. Seriously "lolz don't send me to jail for killing 17 people I had a bad childhood! Put me in a therapy center that is basically a resort!" And as for teenagers having an unstoppable need to fit in? Bull, I know alot of people who don't feel any need to fit in, stop with the sweeping generalizations. Is your next bit of "philosophy" going to be on all black people being thugs and people from the south loving incest? |
