this guy is single-handedly responsible for the commercialization of your favorite bands, childhood television shows, and quirky indie movies. his other favorite shirts include such witty sayings as... "i saw your mom on myspace," "the voices in my head are telling you to shut up," and "can't sleep... the clowns will eat me!"
he can't commit to single trend (no permanent hairdye or real tattoos) because it all changes so quickly. despite his willingness to follow whatever trend his favorite store features that week, his shirts always seem a year or two behind the times.

you know your favorite band is no longer part of the underground once this kid starts hawking their merch

Aww... I never fit in...

The Way of All Flesh 08-31-2008 07:04 PM

I'd say i'm a mixture of brootal, sxe warrior, and the hxc dude. Though my music is occasioanlly a mess it is usually very well orchestrated. I also wear lots of gym shorts. And I am edge. I just really love death metal.

Let me guess they wear a lot of flannel and have greasy hair?

Alfred 09-01-2008 10:46 AM

What about modern hippie chicks? Like, they have weird braided hair, they listen to John Lennon, worship Kurt Cobain, are really studious, wear weird outfits...

I saw one at some weird hippie anti-war presentation at this college exhibit I went to.

We had one of these kids die when I was in high school. All of his followers painted black smears, like tears, falling from their eyes and all wore invader zim shirts...that just happened to be picture day for the yearbook, so everytime I check out the good ole senior yrbook, thats what I am reminded of my youthful years.

I used to date a neo-hippie. She looked anything but (and she was really hot to boot) but she was into all the sixties throwback bands.

sweet_nothing 09-03-2008 06:41 AM

Well if youre hot you can probably get away with being 'gunge'.

lucifer_sam 09-03-2008 12:41 PM

If you're not, it just makes you that much more "grunge." =)

Almost every under-18 girl I've talked to carries the generic emo/myspace whore look. Iss okay, they're mostly attractive. If I dated a girl that didn't carry some negative cliche, I'd be hard pressed to find someone to date.

FireInCairo 09-04-2008 03:08 AM

yay i managed not to fit in with any of them!
they didnt have generic indie kid so im set!!

A hippie scenester would be a walking oxymoron.

Tell that to all the kids trying to bring back the hippie revolution. The last time that was attemped, Woodstock '99 happened. ****ing gaudy tactless purses the size of duffel bags and color schemes that baffel the mind. Not in a good way of course. Why won't the era of bell bottoms and birkenstocks die?!

FireInCairo 09-05-2008 11:52 PM

they should have one for robert smith wannabes
thats me most days haha

sweet_nothing 09-05-2008 11:56 PM

You look like an aging gothic drag queen?

FireInCairo 09-05-2008 11:58 PM

hahaha yes yes i do

nevershoutneverislove 09-22-2009 10:44 PM

haha this website is soo cool :)

Im kinda a mix of a lot of those people. Especially the music. i listen to stuff from the popcore dork, apple store indie, generic "emo" girl & generic "emo" boy. But i dont really dress like any of them. I would love to dress "scene" but i dont bcuz i live in a tiny redneck town and i would get sooo much crap for it. and my parents really hate it haha. but i keep getting closer. and against popular belief i do these things for fun and bcuz i want to NOT for attention, in fact i HATE that kind of attention.

As for looks I'd probably be closest to:

http://www.dobi.nu/yourscenesucks/postrocker/scene.jpg

Without the beard and greasy hair/hairstyle. Music wise there was nothing on there that appealed to me

Antonio 09-23-2009 01:01 AM

http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/5856/scenec.jpg

minus the tattoo, that's how i usually dress

Zer0 09-23-2009 10:40 AM

http://www.dobi.nu/yourscenesucks/juggalo/scene.jpg

I don't actually look like this but i found it hilarious.

I looked through all the scenester types and none of them describe me. Post-rocker came close in terms of dress sense, only i have longer hair and don't listen to much post-rock

simplephysics 09-23-2009 10:57 AM

http://www.dobi.nu/yourscenesucks/applestore/scene.jpg

Haha, this is so accurate its not even funny.. I saw girls like this in my high school everywhere. When the whole 'indie scene' became popular this is what it spawned.

EDIT: I didn't take this quiz, just looked through the different options.

Astronomer 09-23-2009 05:27 PM

http://www.dobi.nu/yourscenesucks/indiejesus/scene.jpg

Hahaha... Well I'm not scene because I don't fit any of them by a mile.

LoathsomePete 09-23-2009 06:26 PM

Me either, the only one that had bands I listened to was the Black Metal warrior one, except I'm no where near as ostentatious in my fashion.

asshat 09-24-2009 02:40 AM

....spot on, spot on. I'm not necessarily one of those guys, I just like obscure bands, I don't go to many shows or hang out with that many people so I don't have a scene...my older bros a post rocker, my younger bros a neo-thrash/black metal hybrid.

...the more I hear about these williamsburg kids the more I dislike them. When the proletariat rises up someday, I hope they're the first to go.

anticipation 09-24-2009 05:51 AM

why did they make the "skramz" revivalist look like such a ****in pussy? he reminds me of every single European screamo guy, because that's exactly how they all dress.

surprised they had jeromes dream listed though, at least they get it.

I think there use to be one, not sure if it's still there.

Bulldog 09-25-2009 08:13 AM

I'm glad to say I look absolutely nothing like any of them.

Unless there's a faux-Bruce Springsteen one I missed :D

wad 09-28-2009 01:33 PM

Hxc Tough Guy. but i wear cargos.

Double X 09-28-2009 02:21 PM

I look like that I suppose, except with blond highlights and a thinner beard. Only wear black jeans, but I am getting a tattoo on my finger soon. I wish people like Juggalo Clown existed...

boo boo 09-28-2009 03:44 PM

I don't really fit any of these profiles in terms of appearance, though the jeans (though mine aren't torn), belt, and long hair makes Indie Jesus the closest match. I also have the emo glasses, the redneck t shirts, the super ghetto vecro shoes and the kinda bucket hat you usually see worn by techno tards, I also wear a flannel jacket from time to time. So I'd say my fashion sense is a bit out of the ordinary.

I am however a Popcore Dork at heart.

http://www.dobi.nu/yourscenesucks/popcore/scene.jpg

If I didn't already post so many pictures of myself, this is probably what most of you would think I look like.

BTown 09-28-2009 04:31 PM

I wish I had the balls to dress like this. I guess it somewhat fits my taste what with the Op Ivy shirt (since I have one) and I wear vans.

gunnels 09-28-2009 05:16 PM

WHICH SCENESTER ARE YOU?

GO THERE! And then post which one you are, and why you think you're that one... it'll be fun.

I'll start:

http://www.dobi.nu/yourscenesucks/wi...burg/scene.jpg

I am this scenester because that is pretty much exactly what my hair looks like... and sometimes I wear headbands.
But like, I don't really do the legwarmers/heels thing. I don't do that. I wear legwarmers and chucks, hxc.

but yeah. i am obnoxiously into beads and freaky-ass jewelry.

scenes are gay.

LOLOKAYGO!

I'm apparently late to the party, but I'd hit the holy hell out of that.
