PS2, GameCube, or Xbox?
What's your favorite system?
I had an Xbox, but I sold it for a GameCube, because I like the GC games better. I know there are a lot of good games on Xbox, but I prefer games like Smash Brothers, Mario, Metroid, Mario Kart, etc. |
ps2 and xbox to me are the best ones, i dont like xbox to much, the smaller cds are just weird to me...and the controller....

But i think the PS and PS2 games that a PS2 can draw from is what separates it from other systems, and it's controllers. The GC controllers are also nice and actually kind of a similar shape, but GC can't play DVD's which is another great thing about PS2. |
i like the ps2 best.. it is the best looking console of the 3, with the best selection of games, plus you can stand it vertically.
|
I'm not really a console person as I don't actively play games. But I do like the Xbox alot because of Xbox Live and Halo (which is now availible on the PC :D).
|
I don't really like any of the new consoles, actually. It sucks that we haven't seen any GREAT games like those that came out in the old days (save for Metroid Prime, which rocks, but Super Metroid, FF7, Chrono Cross, etc are true classics). I'd have to go with Gamecube, though, because Metroid Prime and Smash Bros. are key.

I've still got a ton of PS2 games, but they're almost all fighting games, arcade shooters and other arcade games, plus some stealth games, tennis games and assorted strategy and RPG games. The biggest reason I still keep my 360 around is the Armored Core games. Without those, it would be a really sorry game library, since the other 360 games I like are mostly games where I have similar, better games on my PS2.
I kind of lost interest in gaming, which would have seemed unthinkable to me just a few years ago. I grew up as a gamer and have always been a huge game nerd. Now, I only play games when my brother swings by. |
Would probably have preferred being a child when the PS3 & 4 were out. The online gaming with your mates would have been a mad ting.
Probably more expensive though. Are chipped consoles/copied games still a thing? |

Mad ting Second bit :D |

And if I were to ignore cross platform games and just list all of the amazing PS2 exclusives, it would still make you *** from the majesty. But still, even though the PS2 and Gamecube were damn near objectively superior, I think people are too harsh on the Xbox. It was the only home console that took on the daunting task of porting Morrowind, and that alone is badass. Plus, Jade Empire, Fable (especially the Lost Chapters), Arx Fatalis, Sudeki, and more. |
timesplitter is on xbox too ya twat

oh yeah well i guess you missed the we’re done here part, buddy.
i wanna play timesplitters now. |

PS2 had the better library no doubt, but I'll always have love for XBox for Knights of the Old Republic, Halo, and Fable.

well yeah duh pc is better
im trying to talk one of my friends into making the switch since we almost always queued together in games he’s still in denial that pc can actually be that much better but eh that’s his loss i’m still pretty upset i didnt have a good pc/high speed internet in time to catch WoW at it’s come up |
I mean they are releasing official "vanilla" wow servers this year soo.. i'll probably be going back to see if it holds my interest like it used to. It's still a good game if you're looking for an MMO, it just caters to a much more casual audience now. The grindiness, forced player interactions, and slow progression all took a back seat when MMORPGs became games for people other than old nerds who enjoyed DnD.. not to mention the insane amount of resources available from various online communities have really trivialized learning curves and difficulty.
|
i still haven’t touched the game but if you get back into it let me know, i’m not huge on solo gaming but if you were playing too id be down to try it.
|
So you can bail on me to focus on league after 3 weeks? I wouldn't mind if you were actually good at League :P

how am i supposed to get good if i don't grind? :( i just got overwatch fatigued tbh, and there isn't many other games that interest me too much atm. fortnite got played out fast for me, sea of theives beta was neat but there's only so much to do. it's pretty much only league atm. |
Shots fired... play whatever you enjoy. I typically play alone because I stick with things for extended periods of time and most people like to try new things.
|
I was pretty good at Pong.
Go to google, and type in Atari breakout. click on images, and it turns into the game. |
Nice.. just played a couple rounds
|
The GameCube. But I am a biased Nintendo fanboy with a lot of nostalgia for the console, so my opinion isn't exactly objective.

Forced player interactions were only a thing before raid finder. The progression was so slow back in V/BC that you had to finish whole quest-line just to obtain single skills. But tbh I'm glad they cut back on all the grind and forced interaction just to q. The game was so ****ing tedious back then. I was a little kid full of wonder and even I grew tired of that **** quickly. As for legacy servers, I seriously doubt they're gonna be up before the end of the year. They're still hiring for the team as most of the other devs are working on BfA. It will take even longer if they're using the old textures and the original patched engine and they most likely will else people will be pissed. |
i had all 3 tho and all 3 were different which i liked
