And...something every young boy should know...
1. Take out your credit card and slide it into the vertical crack between the doorjamb and the frame as far as it will go at a perpendicular angle with the door. 2. Tilt the card so the side that's closest to you is almost or is touching the doorknob. Push it again until you feel it slide in more. 3. Bend the card the opposite way, forcing the lock to go back. Quickly open the door. Tips * Realize that you have to be on a certain side of the door. The door lock is slanted, and can only be opened from one side. This method will not work on certain doors. Some doors have a special tab that sticks along side the latch to prevent picking with a credit card. Also most exterior doors will have an additional deadbolt lock that cannot be picked with a credit card. Cards that bend more easily and are larger will work better when using this technique. Some phone cards are particular large and flexible (such as Virgin Mobile Top-Up cards), which makes them ideal for this purpose. If you have an old card (must be larger than a credit card), cut a notch into it so that you can use this technique from both sides of the door. |
