I don't think that we really choose the apple juice. There's a reason why our hand picks up one or the other. And it is based on everything around us. I hope no one disagrees that taste is pure reaction. You like or dislike something just because. You don't put thought behind. It's good or bad. Maybe you just like one more, maybe ones closer, maybe one has more in it, maybe you're brother likes orange juice and you want to be different, maybe your brother likes apple juice and you want to be just like them. So yea predetermined. But I don't think that the next 50 years of my life is going to be a result of everything that's already happened and that's because of accidents.

How would one go about making a decision through free will?

You're still free not to eat tha food. If we didn't have free will against what our mind wanted, people wouldn't be able to quit smoking.

People didn't start to quit smoking untill they found out it was bad for their health. That's the thing they're aware of the negative consequence therefore an action is taken. Just like people control what they eat because they don't want to get fat. Society has driven those into our minds and we tak them for granted.

you're saying use logic and knowledge. Well. Where do those things come from? Everything we've been taught. Everything that we've seen.

n Yes, but that person still has a choice and decides for him/herself. I really don't see how you can argue that we have no free will.
