Have you looked at the charts? Some scientists went to Antartica and drilled out this huge thing of ice and they could picked it apart and tell the temperature of the year and the amount of co2 in the air. And there was this huge graph of the pass 600 million years and nothing was as dramatic as the past 50 years.

Also the co2 levels and temperture were in direct porportion for 600 million years.

I don't know about you but after seeing that I'm convinced.

I always believed in global warming, but I think it really is showing right now. The only thing I do about it is taking my bike everywhere, instead of having my parents bring me with the car. And I close my window to keep warmth inside, instead of turning up the heat.

Just too bad that I seem to be one of few who even take such slight measures...
Isn't Holland supposed to be ahead of the world in all things, including the care for the environment? I'm sure you have a very advanced recycling system, what about wind power, isn't it highly implemented in Holland?

Well yeah, we do that! But I wasn't only talking about the big scale.

Of course other countries should also take these kind of measures. But the small scales also counts. If every individual just takes the bike instead of the car once in a while, the total would also amount to a great effect...
At least, I like to believe that.

You've missed my point, you are aware that the planet has gone through various ice ages, the most recent of which ended about 30 thousand years ago? You don't find that dramatic? What if this is just a natural prelude to the next ice age? Not impossible.

The rate of change in the pass 50 years is greater than the rate of change of an ice age. And if the last iceage was 30,000 years ago we shouldn't have another for 50,000-90,000 years based on past patterns.

No not really, not when you remember the bulk of CO2 emission is due to airplane travel, not when there's a couple of billion of people in China and India who drive cars and don't give a rat's ass about the environment. I try to recycle as much as I can, but I know it doesn't make a difference. It's more so I can say "hey, don't look at me, I recycled" when the shit finally hits the fan.

My house is battered to fook.
It's ripped all the guttering down and wrecked half the street...we got off lightly.
2 of those dead are round here. A wall fell on one and another got blown over and died of head injuries.

ok there is some truth to global warming, yes the world is getting warmer and the ice is melting, but what i see odd about the global warming thing is that places in the U.S. are getting record low temps. up here in Michigan though we didnt get any snow until about a week ago, yet earlier in December places in Texas got pounded with snow. so that kinda counter acts global warming
