I dreamt about being stabbed in my local chippy once.
It was horrendous. I felt the knife going in...it was so graphic. I remember feeling weak and couldn't stop the attacker doing it again and again. It was fucking horrible. |

I hate the dreams when you can actually feel yourself getting hurt.

I used to have terrible nightmares in my teens, but I seem to be able to control them more these days. Nothing much worse than waking up in the middle of the night, with a cold sweat and gripped by fear. |

how do we know thats not the real life, and we are in a constant state of dream well awake, or so called conciousness, maybe they are both concious states, and we both lead a lif ein both of them. Th brain is alive for around 10 minutes after the body, a dream can be extensivley long, but in real life time last only a few minutes, now imagine a dream being 12 minutes, and each minute represniting say a week, now imagine a 8 hour night, thats enough for a lifetime each night. Dual life or othe such concept seem un feasible and redicolous. Some wouldsay that we dream what we want because we have free will, but what is free will, we have billions of years of evolution in our mind, what controls our concious, its hard to say, we have 99% the smae genetic structure as out neighbor, and mainly the differences are phenotical, but what about the other 1 percent, could that be the free will, the strand that controls how you live, rember, tommrow what you eat in the morning will change your life forever, every little thing you do detrmines the rest of your life, can you live with that? The worlds a cnstant state of change, evolution and such, the collective mindset can determine the shape nof the future, imagine it, and it can happen. Chaos is a pattern, and in patterns lay the truth.

We went back there and they had come and hacked off every inoculated arm. There they were in a pile. A pile of little arms. And I remember... I... I... I cried. I wept like some grandmother. I wanted to tear my teeth out. I didn't know what I wanted to do. And I want to remember it. I never want to forget it. I never want to forget. And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought: My God... the genius of that. |

As my sister once said, "It doesn't fucking matter you wake up! It happened, the emotional damage is there, it might as well have been real." Which is why I'm an emotional cripple.

Oh my God, I thought me and my sister were the only ones that thought like this. There's a wonderful quote at the end of Bin-Jip by Kim Ki-Duk, "It's hard to tell if the world we live in is reality or a dream". Who's to say which life is the real one?

I'm sure I've posted this before in another, similar thread.
By the way othe peoples dreams are boring...right? This one wasn't a nightmare, just freaky. I was walking through a forest lit only by the moonlight (sounds like a scene from a film and I can still see it in my minds eye now) and in a clearing was a large building (similar to an aircraft hanger). I went inside and the place was laid out like a warehouse, with stacks of containers reaching up to the ceiling. I can still see the skylights letting in the moonlight. After my eyes adjusted and I took a look in the containers, I realised that they contained everything I'd ever made at work. My entire life's work had been stored away in this place. It dawned on me, that everything I'd ever done was for nothing and that the government were involved in some conspiracy to make people feel like they were useful to the economy...my entire working life had been a waste of time. |

The worst dreams are those you have just before waking up, especially if you wake up in the dream and then convince yourself that what you just experienced was actually reality. This happens to me on a regular basis, especially when I dream I killed someone and am going to jail for the rest of my life, have to go back to highschool or have some terminal illness. Thanks a lot, God.
