how exactly does this program work?

do i just go into chat rooms and ask people what music they have?

or is it like limewire or something?

You type what you want in the search box.......

i did, even for some more mainstream bands and nothin came up-

Are you connected to it? There is a little purple box with a plug symbol in it, double click that.

o wait i got it now...though it seems to download songs pretty slow.

whats the point of the screenames? just to chat while your downloading stuff?

I think you need the screen names to search files or something?

Have you added your music files yet? If you don't, you will get banned :(

what if most of my music is itunes format now...

i deleted limewire a while back, so all of those mp3s are now itunes format i think, you cant put that up can you?

Whats your maximum download speed set at?

one more question, can i just drag and drop files like limewire? or do i constantly have to doubleclick it, and wait for my itunes to start playing it before it gets there.

this may not seem like a big deal...but my computer runs amazingly slow, so for it to have to open a song in itunes is a big deal, and slows everything(like me having to type this) down. and sometimes freezes

It's still fucking with me, Soulseek I mean, still randomly queues me when it's in fact my turn... it's crap, I hate it and curse it and it's children.

well at least it doesnt take up that much room, and so far it seems cleaner then limewire

can anyone answer my earlier question though, do i have to move each song to itunes individually? or is there a way i can drag the whole group of songs there?

go to the downloading screen. Then on the side theres a bunch of number's you can put up or down.



I spent a half an hour messing with them and couldn't tell a difference. Ive stopped using soulseek.

i don't know, i was trying to download "tim" by the replacements last night(still want it if anyone gots it) and it must have been remotely qued for a good 3 hours.
I could have downloaded it on limewire, and done an Ad-Aware scan to kill all the viruses i got in the process in that amount of time.

The point is to find a user who doesn't have anyone in his queue and has a high upload speed. The only issue I have with Soulseek is that it randomly crashes... often. On my computer, at least.

Yeah, same here...I had to restart my puter many a time...
