The nightmare of new years
For new years eve, we had the bright idea of going downtown London to see the fireworks arround 11pm. The Embankment station was closed due to it being overcrowded. We got off at Charing Cross, along with about 5 thousand other people, it took about 20 minutes to get out of the station. It was horrible, but that was only the start. As soon as we got out and got some fresh air, we were met by half a million crazy drunked idiots, all trying to see the fireworks. We ended up spending new year's eve in some alley next to the Thames, with no view of the fireworks, and no clue how to get of out the crowd. The police were very helpful , God bless them.

Covent Garden
Covent Garden is full of quaint little pubs, the first picture is a nice little ferris wheel , I thought the pic turned out really well, sorta vintage. The second one is dedicated to "Fools and horses" fans. The third and fourth is a bar, pub or whatchyamightcall it where we ate ( damn the brits for not allowing smoking in restaurants ) and almost got sloshed on a pint of beer.

Sister Ray and Kensington Gardens
Sister Ray is supposed to be one of the best indie record stores in London. It's a lot dirtier than the Virgin M. and HMV, but it also adds to the general, uber trendy vibe of it. I'm positive they have loads of shit, but we only searched for Tigercity ( which they didn't have because apparently the bastard band only sells records via their own site ) and some DVD my sister was looking for that they didn't have in V.M. I would have spent some more money there but me oldest sis was wise and didn't give us much of it....( the bitch ).
We went to Kensington Gardens ( the south end ) after Harrods, but it started to rain ( shocker! ) so we had to cut it short. We did manage to run into this guy. That's Daniel Mays, for those unfaniliar with the british cinema, he stars in some of my favourite films, Mike Leigh's "All or nothing" and "Vera Drake". Of course, we were too polite to bother him for a picture. P.s. Notice the awesomness of the adidas bag I'm wearing in Sister Ray that we purchased in the Originals store...

Harrods ( oh the tackyness! )
Harrods was fairly dissapointing, for the worlds most famous department store, I was expecting something much more exclusive and posh. The first two floors are rather tacky, Mohamed Al-Fayed had them decorated in the most unappropriate egyptian style ( note the sphinxs )( he's egyptian btw  ) which is a shame because it was probably once a very nice english department store. To top off the tawdriness, he put a wax figure of himself in the middle of it. Freaky.
