Marquis de Sade's "120 Days of Sodom"
He wrote it while imprisioned at Bastille I believe. Its just so descriptive........borderlines disturbing.

As I Lay Dying? A little bit dry for me, have to be in the mood for some serious Faulkner. Read Demian. Hermann ****ing Hesse for the win! Read Killing Yourself to Live. Lovely book by old Chuck Klosterman, author of Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs... also a good read. |

You'd probaly really like A Winter Haunting (I mentioned it early), its a mindfuck. Its not one of my favorites but its still pretty sweet. It messes with your head quite a bit. |

Disgrace, by J.M. Coetze. There's something extremely blunt about the way he writes that keeps me reading and reading, when normally I have a very poor attention span for literature. I've started hundreds of books and finished very few but that was one I couldn't stop reading.
A Fine Balance, Rohinton Mistry. Read a lot of books when I had very little else to do while on trains or laying around in the evenings a couple of years ago. This was by far the best. It might not make as much sense if you haven't been to India, but it probably will.
