Dickens is pretty boring, I barely made it through Great Expectations, I pity you Robert.
Anyway back to what I wanted to say, tdoc you need to quit swearing every 10 seconds it makes you look like an idiot. Quote:
A lot of modern literature sucks, its mostly filled with sex (eroticism in books = pointless) and trendy pop culture crap, I doubt most authors today will be remembered for a long time unlike Shakespeare and Mark Twain. And that poet question is also pretty stupid, you're a bad poet because you've dealt with what you write about? According to that logic, a 13 year old writing about cutting but never laid a knife to his wrist is better then a poem Emily Dickinson writing about nature. Your questions suck. |

your logic sucks
read the context.. good writers..never experience, what bad writers do, because bad writers dont have time to do the good writing, but good writers can write about anything, and make it seem good. you don't get the questions

I wanted to tear my teeth out. I didn't know what I wanted to do. And I want to remember it. I never want to forget it. I never want to forget. And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought: My God... the genius of that. |

Also, that still makes 0 sense, just because you're a good writer doesn't mean you can write about anything and it will be good. |

Most good literature isn't "outdated", look at Catcher In The Rye that was published in 51 and its still very popular and relevant, and Animal Farm was published in '45 its still great. And all of Stephen King's stuff is still good as hell and he started in 74.
hence..19th century..industrial.. error, besides cathcer in the rye is boring humdrub for scene kids who jack off to it. i'd hardly call 74' old with ****ens it is out dated because..it deals with a period of time we are no longer in

Then proceed to look like more of a moron.

And use the dictionary, Dickens isn't outdated because its not in this time period, by that logic all wizard dragon fantasy books are outdated even though they were put out in 06. And for the record, outdated doesn't = bad. Do you even know what you're talking about? |

oh for ****s sake.. im referring to the industrial revolution dip****, thats what ****ens wrote about, along with social unrest, and innequalities in england.
The Industrial revolution is over, thus the material is outdated, never said it wasnt any good. For he was trying to intiate change through his writings. Like george Orwells 1984. Besides Oliver Twist, rips the **** out of Catcher in the rye.

I don't see whats wrong with catcher in the rye, all you've said is, it isn't as good as Oliver Twist (subjective) and its only like by scene kids (bullshit). And question, what is the point of proving its outdated? If you aren't using it as a negative statement, then thats like going "Dickens last name started with d". And hey, you'd better watch who you're calling dipshit I can warn you if I cared enough. Insults aren't tolerated, and doing it right in front of a mods face is pretty stupid. |
