Default car life

I was arguing with a friend today about how long cars last..so what is the average mileage a car can go?

300,000 tops. but if you replace the engine, tranny, suspension, tires, etc, theoretically it could last FOREVER!!!!

and welcome back

From my own expierience, a Ford will have a significantly shorter life than a GM without any major work.

Cadillacs, BMW's, Lincolns, and more luxury type of vehicles tend to last longer than a Chevy Cavalier for the most part. It usually takes about 100,000 miles just to get them broken in.

The Audi will last longer than a GM plus hold it's residual value, however they are more expensive to maintain. I currently own a GM and believe me when I say it will be my last, what a piece of sh!t. I need it to get me through the winter and then I will be replacing it with a Toyota.

I paid $15,000 for a vehicle that I have had for four years and it is now worth $1500, buy a foriegn car and some of your value will stick
