I have 36 friends who like Nickelback. I honestly don't get how they have such a large fanbase.

I am approximately 3 months facebook- free now.

Feels good man. Of course my forum addiction is a million times worse, but hey, at least I'm not posting daily statuses.

Honestly I quit because I'm a big baby and got offended nobody ever 'liked' my GENIUS statuses on social commentary and why I make the best burgers.

That's one of the issues I have with Facebook. The kind of stuff that gets the likes tends to be the most boring (baby pics, friends taking selfies in a million different poses, people complaining about their relationships, etc). However, whenever I post something that I carefully thought out and wrote, I'm lucky to even get a comment, let alone a single like, so I feel your pain. Heck, when I post selfies, I get more attention on Instagram with only 30 followers than I do on FB with over 400 friends. It's really weird.

I still check FB daily on my Kindle, but if there's no messages or notifications, I'll close the app and move on with my day. It's not worth reading through people's emotional garbage, especially if none of them pay attention to anything I post.

Yeah it was really starting to grind my gears that my friends would all suck eachother's dicks about stupid things while mine remained dry. It's a big system of trading compliments and information for compliments and information. If you don't comment on them often enough, they won't comment on you.

Despite the fact that... sorry, but my statuses were better than half theirs. Where's the appreciation for good content??

You know why that happens? Most of your facebook friends aren't even seeing it to begin with.

Most people have their newsfeed set to top stories so you don't end up seeing every single little thing that your friends post. You only see mostly the ones that you talk to more regularly, comment on or like on a consistent basis.

Facebook is a bit flawed that way.

It's easy to just switch over to most recent instead of top news to see every single thing but people have top news on by default and don't think to change over.

The bolded is also affected by the top news situation I talk about above.

I happen to be part of a random weird family and friendship circle who are scattered all over the world, so I only really use Facebook to keep in touch with them and browse their photos to remember what they look like... ha! I don't really post anything myself, except for the occasional photo album or something that my parents or siblings would be interested in!

The only real problem I have on BookFace is when people talk about drugs/sex/racist ****. Especially on my posts. I don't talk about any of that crap in real life (irl for you hipsters) since I don't do drugs, I'm not a racist, and I'm of the old school mind-set of keeping my sex life in the bedroom (or where ever). It's been happening more frequently lately, and my "Friends" count has been slowly dwindling. Some of the unfriended have expressed surprise (again... irl) since they don't even know what they did.

Unfriended: Dude, I thought we were freinds on FB? What happened?

Me: You said you wanted to trade some weed for my amps. I know it was only a joke, but wtf... my daughter reads my posts. Not cool. Just having that 'element' attached to something that has to do with me will put the suggestion into impressionable minds, where it shouldn't even be an issue. You are compromising my set of values to which I've tirelessly tried to instill in my daughter, and I have enough crap in my life to deal with without having to police my posts on FB.

Unfriended: *blank stare*
