Glasses or no glasses?

Do you wear 'em? I wear contacts for about 95% of the time and glasses like right when I get up and right before I go to sleep.

Thrice 12-31-2003 04:36 PM

Neither.

IamAlejo 12-31-2003 04:42 PM

MobilizeTerror 12-31-2003 04:43 PM

I wear glasses only when I watch tv or have to look at something far away

Interactive 12-31-2003 08:23 PM

Neither. I have pretty decent eye vision.

OzzieJess 12-31-2003 10:37 PM

2tonelol 02-09-2004 01:58 PM

MuzikQueen79 02-09-2004 08:01 PM

I don't have glasses, but I need them.

franscar 09-12-2004 03:24 PM

No glasses, just colourblind.

Once my ex got annoyed with me because I said she had blue eyes and she was adamant they were green. How can two people argue over something like that?

wacky 09-14-2004 01:51 PM

^ lol that sucks

I dont wear either.. I dont wish to either

SwitchFootRocks! 09-22-2004 06:18 AM

flippedcanvas 09-25-2004 09:53 AM

I'm short sighted if I don't wear'em I get headaches!

adidasss 10-15-2005 02:41 PM

what the hell?!? how do people find these threads?!
btw, i wear glasses, started wearing them in my second year of collegge, too much studying will do that to you, i've been thinking of contacts but they cost a sh!t load of money and i'm not so inclined to touch my eyes every day...still, glasses make me look like a geek and i actually cut my ( long ) hair because i started wearing them and i thought those two just didn't mix well....*sigh*

right-track 10-15-2005 02:45 PM

My eyesights perfect! ;)

adidasss 10-15-2005 02:46 PM

yeah...so was mine 3 years ago....what can you do...( and i can see just fine up close....*cough*bastard*cough*;))

Merkaba 10-15-2005 02:47 PM

If you're gonna fork out for contacts you may as well go the extra yard and get laser eye treatment so you don't have to wear anything.

Have you considered laser treatment?

edit. Haha, damn you Merkaba you beat me to it. ;)

adidasss 10-15-2005 02:49 PM

first of all, it costs like a thousand pounds, second, yes i have considered it, but it's still surgery...things can go wrong.....

Merkaba 10-15-2005 02:49 PM

Heh good timing right track

.angie. 10-15-2005 07:32 PM

:)

.angie. 10-15-2005 08:10 PM

It's okay 'cause you're actually cute in them.;) Most emo kids just get them to have emo points..

blackTshirt 10-16-2005 01:53 AM

wear them
and i'm a do the laser thingy as soon as i stop growing
that's like in a couple of years
(apparently)

Merkaba 10-16-2005 01:57 AM

Hehe na you just slow down. I think early 20's is when you begin to stop growing and minor refinements take place for the rest of your life...or until 60 when you start to shrink.

blackTshirt 10-16-2005 02:02 AM

yeah well let's not get into depressing stuff
so yeah, i'll probably do it when i'm 20

Barnard17 10-16-2005 07:20 AM

Why wait til you stop growing? Eyes never change in size.

Oh, and women stop growing earlier than men by a good couple of years.

pastor of muppets 10-16-2005 07:33 AM

^ yeah they change shape so your vision changes...

Barnard17 10-16-2005 07:46 AM

That's to do with disfiguration of your lense over time, not to do with the rest of your body growing. Eyes don't grow or shrink though.

DontRunMeOver 10-17-2005 03:47 AM

Well if any part of your eye function is still changing (size, shape or muscles/lens action) then laser correction for a certain prescription won't give you good, lasting results.

I wear glasses and contact lenses. A lot of people don't seem to notice that I wear glasses though - like they somehow blend into my face. Strange.

[MERIT] 10-17-2005 06:56 AM

i almost poked my eye out putting in a contact lense one time so i pretty much stick to glasses

DontRunMeOver 10-17-2005 07:01 AM

Has anybody ever:

1. Fallen asleep with contacts in and then, after waking up, found that the contact lens had dried out so much that it was almost impossible to remove from the eye.

AND/OR

2. (Especially when drunk) removed contact lenses, then forgotten that they've removed the lenses and started trying to remove contact lenses again - essentially just prodding away at a bare eyeball.

Never done these things myself of course...

But it's always changing depending on how the muscles in the area are, how wet the eye is etc. There's no set time when the disfigurement stops, indeed the disfigurement increases later in life. Saying not to do it until they stop changing shape is like saying not to get in your boat until the tides stop flowing.

Are you having a philisophical argument about a scientific matter here?

Barnard17 10-17-2005 12:26 PM

No, I'm using a metaphor. The tide will never stop flowing so saying you're not going fishing until the tide stops is equible to saying you're never going fishing. Likewise your eyes are allways changing, but never growing.
