But it's really close to manchester, at least, that's what she said...

And what do you mean with the fact that it's twinned with Amsterdam?

Twinned means just that. Two cities that share cultural similarities.
Cultural exchanges etc. It's in a list on the link above.

I tried to find some gig dates in Manchester, for the month of April, but they only go up to March at the moment.
I'll update you nearer the time.
This is an exciting city in many ways, especially for music.

I'll make a list of places to visit later.
