What's wrong with England? Apart from the weather, obviously.

My personal take:

People hate America because of the stereotypes they see. Americans are fat, they know nothing about the wider world apart from that every other country in the world is beneath them, and they don't care about anything but themselves.

I've been to the U.S. heaps of times now. New York, New Orleans and Las Vegas are the places I've been, and the people I've met have been lovely, friendly people. They didn't have the faintest idea where Birmingham was, despite it being the second largest city in England, but they were nice people.
