so people who can't have children have failed at life? so they should just shoot themselves and get it over with because their existance no longer has a purpose?what about homosexuals? they don't have a purpose for existance? i think the meaning and purpose of life is something far more complex that the continuation of a species....but i haven't got a clue as to what it is...

There are other ways to "give life". An steral man can donate blood that is used to keep a car crash victum alive, or someone like my dad could be a gunney (sp?) pig for new drugs to control or terminate a disease or virus.

The fun part is:
There isnt a meaning of life. Not one that we can comprehend anyway.
and if we cant comprehend it, its not really worth trying to achieve anything in is it? If we somehow hit the jackpot and "win" life, we trigger some event in some magical place we'll never understand? There isnt a meaning of life in the sense that anyone should care.

I thought a part of it was continuation of a species, but I have no idea what else there is to it. Nor do I care, being my own thought process is my religion and I want to have the best time in life without devoting my time to something that will be an anticlimax. I'm not trying to be offensive to your way of things, but thats what my religion says.

And on homosexuals. You were saying it is wrong to shun people for believing in different things. Which your right, it is. But why then does religion shun homosexuals?

i agree that we can't understand what the purpose of life is, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist, if an ant can't figure out his purpose or reason for existance, does that mean it doesn't exist? it does, we as a higher being know that his purpose is to be annoying and disgusting, in that sense i believe there is a higher being ( one that perhapse uses more than 10 percent of his/her/it's brain ) that knows our purpose and is laughing at us and our stupidity, people cling to religion because they feel if they live by the rules of the specific belief system they will get to that being who holds the answers to everything.....

i can't answer that, i'm a catholic, but i strongly disagree with many things my churchs is trying to pass as undeniable truths, one of them is that gay people are going to hell, i don't think that way of thinking is right or in accordance with the teachings of Jesus, i believe God loves all his children equaly and people do not go to hell because of their sexual prefferances, especially when they don't harm others
