maybe I should make threads about popularity contests and advice on women. Would that get you off? I feel a plague of ignorance and apathy....

Acctualy im just sick and tired of these overgeneralized unorginized jumbles. Stufff like down with the government or the UN means nothing. Yes I agree with the fact that its ****ty that the United Nations has baisically been a defunct orginization for the past 20 years and has done very little if anything to stop coflicts or aid third world contries. But thrue apathy is just bitching about it on a message board. Civil rights are abused around the world every day. Not just in the congo recently. Places like Rawanda, Iraq, Finland, nepal, Indonishiaand right in your own backyard where pedaphiles and rapists walk the streets. But what does the American public say? "O to bad for them, thnk god Im an American!" Not a dime is contributed to the red cross or unicef or feed the children. Not a stone is thrown or a bottle broken. Dissent has become mundan discussion over blood and oil. No paint is sprayed and no thought excerted. The "revolutionaries" wear there bandanas and drink while protests are orginized. People read there zines but dont inform others of what they learn and when they do it they do it in the most condiscending sarcastic manner they can. Political action and civil disobedience had become nothing more than a trend for the majority of people. Its cool to say **** the system and spray paint under a bridge but its not cool to attend town hall meatings or campaign for a canidate. What im trying to say is I've had some very discouraging run ins with so called political mind recently and have grown vey skepticle.

So you hink your free? Kids still get raped in America on a daily basis. I've know more than a few girls in my life who have been molested or taken advantage of by complete strangers or people they thought they could trust. Rape is more common in the U.S. than mostpeople think and it makes me sick when hordes of people protest Michael Jackson when there very neighbor could be getting molested at the same time. I agree maybe its time you start living up to your patches..

I could have easily "bitched", as you would put it, about a broader scope of civil rights. However, my focus here is on the incompetence and corruption of the U.N. It appears the people that posted here were mainly concerned with the pedophilia and abuse of young women. As you know, that in itself could have easily been the main topic here. Like I implied just earlier, my motives are not purely political or purely ethical; the bottom line is the UN and its laundry list of unsolved global issues.
Think what you will, but the civil rights issues you speak of are more "overgeneralized unorganized jumble" than my "bitching" on the specific topic of the United Nations and its incompetence. What I don't quite understand is your interpretation of my original post and linking it to following an anti-government conformity. You characterize my non-politically driven opinion as some sort of "trend" of cliche civil disobedience. I understand your skepticism, because I feel the same way. But the fact that you think I made this thread to look cool shows a lot about your cynicism; it's not healthy. Not everyone is motivated by trends or anti-trends. Believe it or not, people actually have opinions and live with it. Don't bundle people into groups without accepting individuality does actually exist.

FYI, I don't participate in campaigns or town hall meetings. I don't contribute money to Unicef or Red Cross or Feed The Children. Like most American citizens, I have grown skeptical of political campaigns and nonprofit organizations, because of rare, isolated (but well exploited) incidents of scandal. Dont blame me, blame media and Hollywood for negatively portraying the process I take advantage of everyday. However, I don't participate in protests or childish variations of civil disobedience neither. To me, government is not something to hate or love, it's something that is unfortunately necessary because of the limits of human decency. Anarchy is not plausible, that's obvious (at least to me). I am quite interested in politics, as an observer not as a participant. Is it crazy to think that people are entitled to form opinions about such politics? Nothing says we all have to agree. And, nothing says we have to do anything about it.
