meh, those protesters are the minority among liberals in the US, however, as is normally the case they're the most vocal, and unfortunately they also happen to be short a few billion brain cells.

^ i dont think that the american public needed to be reminded of it. although it is very important, there is a time and a place to talk about such matters. that speech was neither.

For example: If and when you attend college, much of what you learn that is debatable is open-ended knowlege, which means they teach you what they want you to know, but it's not flat out "this is how it is, this is the wrong way, this is the right thing to do, etc." You discuss, and weigh the pros and cons.

My point is, you seem to have many questions, and questions are great...
My advice to you would be to research, and read up on things....see both sides of everything, then make a logical judgement. You may like America now, but you may see things differently when you pay taxes, or when you're directly effected with society on an adult level.

As for personal preference...I don't like to get deep with my opinions...talk to me in person and I'll talk. I do, however, admire Canada greatly.
spoke like a true professer, what do u do for a living
im not insulting u, i agree with what u say, that does seem like something the american government would do, mass produce blind patriots by shoving lies and propaganda so far down your throats at such an impressionable age, hoping theyll join the overfunded, under trained military so they have lives at their disposal todie at their command.
hey, just look at that bully Bush, he went into Iraq and finished what his father couldnt and his excuse was "weapons of mass destruction" which turns out didnt exist, then it was "Hussien had to ties to Bin Laden" which turns out he didnt hav those ties to the REAL criminal which he failed to take down. he doesnt care about Osama, it was the innocent Saddam Hussien (granted he was a killer but he didnt do anything to America so Bush didnt have the right) that he took down

and THAT is why everyone hates America, BLIND PATRIOTISM, if the people didnt listen to his lies, none of this would have happened

That is also why I am proud to be Canadian a neutral country that doesnt start pointless, mass murderous war. think about America was involved in every war since its existence

Russian Revolution, Russo-Japanese War, Greco-Turkish War, Anglo-Boer War, Balkan Wars.....should I continue? Because all of those were in a span of 25 years. So I'm sure I could dig up quite a few more, should I? Or have I made you look foolish enough yet?

Yeah, millions more. He was incredibly good at killing people, but he got owned by Chairman Mao, that guy was seriously good at it.

this is the problem with political debates on this forum. basically every intelligent argument from both side has been brought up in a previous debate we've had at some time, so a huge chunk of the comments are radical, overblown statements with little to no factual evidence to back them up. Post WWII, america definitely veered away from the isolationist policy it had before then, but it's not like america became a war mongering nation overnight. Yes, america has been involved with a lot of conflicts around the world, but the majority were combined UN forces, in which america played a major role. Vietnam, the war in iraq, and a few military ops in south america during the cold war were exceptions, but it's rediculous to think that those alone are enough to label the entire post-WWII era as one in which america was any more militarily involved than any other country. If we're talking about Bush alone on the other hand, it's still a subject of debate. Yes he started the war in iraq, but other presidents have started unpopular wars and executed military opperations that didn't have a lot of popular support. This by no means makes it ok, and anyone who's read any of my posts concerning politics knows where I stand on the issue. However, if he does indeed make an aggressive move in Iran (and it's looking more and more possible), then he could very well deserve that title.
