Default How is killing wrong?

Is it because of the highly Christian society that we as whities have been inbred on, suckling at the teet of Christian superiority. Because I'm of the knowledge that some native tribes, isolated from civilization since the first humans eat each other.

I personally think the killing of someone is wrong because you are taking away power from the individual you are going to kill, basically they have no choice in the matter. So is the idea of killing someone based on our standards of society and why do you consider killing wrong? or is it even wrong?

Thorts.

I believe it is wrong to kill innocent people. But the old addage "an eye for an eye" still rings true in my eyes. If someone does something horrible then they deserve to be punished. But I am against the death penalty b/c I dont believe it is the government's place to do so. If someone murders my brother for example, then I would be within my full moral right to murder him or his brother, its only fair. But the government has no stake in the conflict and thus no right to hand out a punishment on the magnitude of death. I know that this view contradicts my Christian belief of "thou shalt not kill", but I feel that every situation should be taken on a case-by-case basis.

But I'm just saying as a society are our beliefs that killing is wrong based on the religious teet for which we have been nurtured by. If infact our society wasn't so rooted in christianity as it is would killing be considered so morally wrong.

lets just restate this. I believe you should say "Society believes that unjustified killing is wrong." society seems to have no problem when a child molester or serial killer is put to death. and unjustified killing is frowned upon in most societies, reguardless of religion.
