It is illegal simply because to reverse a prohibition is a massive thing, and frankly most cannabis smokers are just too fucking passive to scare them into taking action. they WILL NOT legalise a psychoactive drug for recreational purpose; a drug that is as yet criminally understudied, but certainly has - as most drugs do - ill effects.

how many other things that are bad for you (and don't give me that spirituality shit - true or otherwise. the majority of people cane on rotten for the buzz/escapism) has the government pushed, recently.

there's no room for hedonism in the minds' of successfull politians. they are single minded and robotic in their pursuit of popularity, and regular cannabis smokers still remain a minority.

Pothead is such a ****ing stereotype. Even if those people didn't smoke pot they'd still be the same. Marijuana becomes their excuse for performing poorly in school, being apathetic, etc.

I smoke frequently and am getting better grades this year than all 3 previous in High School.

I disagree. it's not that straighforward as you can generalise in that way. it affects people differently, as you demonstrate. I know plenty of peeps that would have 'done their homework' if they didn't have something they were really into at the time - ie: cane lots of gear!

Anyway, a good story here: My friend X was always fun and caring and nice to everyone. Then X started smoking pot.....regularly....like daily......and in large doses. X has become annoying and forgetful and most of us(friends) cant stand being around X anymore. To make it worse, the pot was an entry drug to **** like DXM and now X snorts Xanax and drinks bottles of Nyquil and alike just for a buzz. Pot should remain illegal because it makes people stupid.

Obviously it was the pot that led him to more drugs and he wasn't interested in any of that in the first place.

Pot didn't affect my grades in anyway, the only reason I stopped was because my girlfriend wanted me to and because I needed to quit using other things to get away from my problems.

Agreed. It is all different. In my experiance it simply serves as an excuse. I smoke when I have free time and have nothing important to do. Alot of the stereotypical stoners smoke before they have things to do because it helps them cope. And those are the "potheads" that media portrays giving the rest of us a bad name.

Well she was a moron doing it daily. I smoke too, but in moderation. Like once a month if I'm lucky. I COULD get it more but after watching my friend deteriorate I'm just not interested in a life like that.
