Sport or Not??

Okay i made this thread to get opinions on what should be the qaulifications for a game or activity to be considered a Sport. We hear it all the time Golf isnt a sport, Bowling isnt a sport, etc.. What do you think ? list the activities you think shouldnt be considered sports or participants shouldnt be considered athletes, and reasons..........

Personally i only have one rule - if you dont have to run or swim during the activity its not a sport

Golf and bowling are both sports

agreed, i just think golf could be more of a sport, maybe if you were timed
on how fast you could finish a hole or something (it would definetely make it a lot more exciting)
Bowling i consider a game.. for reasons ive listed

If you go by the same standards that cheerleading is a sport then marching band is a sport.

to me it would seem that the easiest way to state my opionions would be that it's a sport if its competitive

How about a game of Chess.

I reckon sport should be somewhat physical, otherwise it's just a 'game'.

But then they call Cricket a sport, and I swear thats 6 hours of either waiting for a bat or standing around enjoying the grass spot you never move from.
