Yes, I started listening to emo that would be considered mainstream. Then a friend of mine who loves emo started loaning me alot of the music that you would call real emo. And you are correct, I did not like either form. But all I ever heard when I posted about emo was how I didn't know what I was talking about. Nothing that I have stated in these posts has been anything more than my opinion. Last time I checked that was the point of posting in forums, to share your opinion. I will not be crucified for posting my opinion when I read plenty of stupid **** on these boards daily. It may sound stupid to you but someone else may read it and agree wholeheartedly.

It is growing in popularity and every time you turn around there is a new Emo band that sounds the same as the one that came out last week. It is oversaturated right now and the quality will suffer because of it, eventually causing the genre to die out and become less relevant/important.

I have never heard a single one of those bands mentioned in any major music media outlet.

A music forum would suck if there wasn't debating/arguing over these opinions. Besides, I can say the French won the Iraq war, and that maybe my opinion, but that won't make it true.
