At any rate, I can't justify the pros of any war because no number of pros for any way will ever equal the number of lives lost in a war. Wars (for the most part) start when a group of people (usually oppressed) rise up and strike against their oppressors. Think of nations that gained their independence through war. They killed people and in their minds it was justified. Think of Native American Indians that killed the "white man" because they invaded their land and took it away from him. Are you trying to say that if someone invaded your house you wouldn't try to kill them to protect yourself? Same difference only in a war more people die. And I can honestly say that if intruders (armed or otherwise) entered my home and I was all alone, my first instinct would be to shoot first and ask questions later. As for mass murder. . . There's is never really any justification for it unless the culprit(s) get by on an insanity plea. So still your pushing it with that example.

We went back there and they had come and hacked off every inoculated arm. There they were in a pile. A pile of little arms. And I remember... I... I... I cried. I wept like some grandmother. I wanted to tear my teeth out. I didn't know what I wanted to do. And I want to remember it. I never want to forget it. I never want to forget. And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought: My God... the genius of that. |
