Things You Want To Do To Better Yourself

As I have gotten older I have noticed some of my intelligence slipping away, ie: mis-spelling words, getting lost in conversations etc. I have decided that I would like to take some night courses to stimulate my brain, perhaps some creative writing to keep myself sharp.

What are your plans to better yourself???

Blain 08-02-2006 05:03 AM

It's almost done! I was pretty fat last year and it's almost all gone!!! And that's all I have to rant about:)

MoonlitSunshine 08-02-2006 07:24 AM

I have to procrastinate less. I have state exams next year, so I need to study. I spent this summer not getting a job.

Mama Booze 08-02-2006 07:37 AM

I want to be a nice person. I'm not, really. I'm quite a bitch, to everyone. And I want to be less smothering to *some people*. :/

BlueEyedSuicide 08-02-2006 08:37 AM

I want to be more easy going.
More spontaneous.
Less of a procrastinator.
I want to be thinner, in a healthy way.
More assertive, less of a pushover.

&I would love to actually do my homework.

I'd like to be less moody, stop smoking, get a handle on this weight thing, and that's about it.
And patience. I'd like to learn patience.
And the ability to 'hold my tongue'

that's just it for me too.. aside from the smoking thing, I've been quite smoking for a year now.

my doctor says I'm moody because of what the pills did to me, and maybe I'm still in a depression.

I'am the least amount of patience's in the world, and its going to ruin my relationship if I don't work on it.

I always says whats on my mind, bad or good, and some day I'll say the wrong thing to the wrong person, and it will efftect my life.

weird.

Merkaba 08-03-2006 04:36 PM

I lack assertive qualities.

And also I want to get rid of some of my laziness. I'm not physically lazy, but things like grades and future plans gradually fade away because of this laziness.

I was planning to go to Italy next year or Australia over the Christmas break but have just not gotten around to doing it, I'm a serial-slackarse.

MoonlitSunshine 08-03-2006 04:38 PM

^That would be my problem too

DontRunMeOver 08-03-2006 05:00 PM

I want to start actually speaking mandarin to my chinese friends (as I know how to speak it), instead of just eavesdropping on their conversations.

MoonlitSunshine 08-03-2006 05:03 PM

Do they know you can speak Mandarin, or are you just gonna spring it on them one day?

Laces Out Dan! 08-03-2006 05:47 PM

I learned to drywall today and did that for a few hours...i guess that could better my life in the future if i ever build anything or do any additions

Spike*Spiegel 08-03-2006 05:50 PM

lose another 15 lbs (baby weight, blech)
stop smoking
be less nice

mosesandtherubberducky 08-03-2006 06:42 PM

I need to get my attention span back to where it was. :( It took me 2 hours to read 30 pages of a book because I kept getting distracted by stuff. Oh and I'd always like to work on listening because I tend to trail off when someone is talking to me =/.

A couple of them know I can speak Mandarin, the rest have no idea. I'm planning on practising with the ones who know and then completely freaking out the others when I've become more fluent. Its awesome, I've improved a lot in the last few months, and its very strange to find a white English guy within the UK who can speak chinese.

Sometime I'll probably get around to learning to read Mandarin too, but I'm not really expecting much success in that as my pretty severe dyslexia tends to slow me down in that respect.

TrampInaTux 08-04-2006 05:18 AM

I'd like to worry less. That is a major one.
I'd like to overreact to situations less.
I'd like to be more selfish sometimes and stop helping out everyone else, I am going through the same as them after all.
I'd like to be slightly less outspoken, it can get you into ****.
I'd like to be more of a closed person.
I'd like to make everyone understand what is going on with me without actually having to tell them.
