I`ve been thinking of getting a new console for a while now.
Nintendo , definetly not. I loathe nintendo stuff with a passion. I got a DS basically on listening to a friend who is a nintendo junkie who assured me it would be worth it. It was a crock of sh*t , nothing but those horrible cutesy kids games that pollute everything nintendo do.In the end I sold it to my sister & bought a psp.Nintendo are gonna have to do a hell of a lot to impress me for me to buy a wii. And then theres that stupid name too. I`m tempted to get a Playstation 3 but what worries me is that they seem to be rushing to get it out.Sony are losing loads of exclusive contracts to xbox because it`s not out yet and while it`s not out Sony are losing money.I just get the feeling that it`ll be rushed out & there will be sh*tloads of problems with it. As for the xbox 360 everybody who I know has bought one has had problems with it.To be honest I wasn`t all that impressed with the original xbox. There didn`t seem to me to be a very good selection of games. All the games seemed to be either sports sims , movie tie ins or role play.Hardly any originality at all. What i`m going to do is wait & see what the Playstation 3 is like , if it`s any good i`ll get that.Sony consoles seem to have a good selection of games & I always found the playstation much more usable than I ever found my Xbox. If it`s no good i`ll get a discounted 360 , they`re bound to drop the price when the ps3 comes out.

Well, it does seem that Sony is rushing to get their PS3 out, but it is understandable.
XBOX 360 was released quite a while ago, and a lot of people are just impatient. They want a next-gen console right now, and may end up purchasing and XBOX 360 if Sony doesn't hurry. Aside from that, I think the PS3 will be miles better than the other two systems, their graphics processor has 2x the capabilities that XBOX's has, and, Playstation has consistantly better games than xbox, namely the Final Fantasy series as well as any other game that Square puts out, whom I have rarely been let down by. The Wii, in my opinion, is ridiculous. I don't want to get up and perform Eddie Gordo combos at 3 in the morning, or have a tennis match in my living room. I want to half-heartadly press buttons with one eye open, not act out the actions I want to perform in the video game. |

The PS3 photo confuses me, I cant work out what the hell it really looks like. But the PS series has always been top of the food chain for me.
I'm with Urban on the Nintendo thing, in that I've never liked Nintendo. XBOX is a double edged sword, I think they've definitely improved the range and quality of games over the few years they've been around, but if they've still got that queer controller I don't want to know about it.

Theres a problem with the PS3, when it comes out in novmber(i believe), it is supposed to cost any where from $500 for a 20GB model, or $600 for the 60GB model, from what i seen its going to be worth it, you will be able to play PS1,PS2 disks on it, dvds, hold pictures, and the controller set up is pretty much the same, and there is supposed to be away to play with up to seven controllers on one system, i think its with the wireless.
ask for nintendo, the NES and Super Nes were good but the other kinda sucked, xbox has halo and fable, those are th main reason i like the xbox

The XBOX has come a long way in my opinion but SOny has always been good for making great gaming consoles. But the PS3 will probably cost anyone a small fortune which won't be too much of a setback since people loves vid games and will find some way to own one.
As for the Wii, I don't know. I suspect it'll do nicely and any avid gamer will probably buy one just so they can have it. That sorta thing. And I really wanna vote for the PS3 but I can see it having some probs if it has the same overheating problems as any of its previous consoles. But this too can probably be avoided if you have a solution for it. (I know several people that made their own make shifts console coolers) And since I'll probably never completely get over my distrust of the XBOX. . . well then it's settled. I'm voting PS3.

I doubt I'll get one, though my brother might, but if I had to pick I'd probably go for the PS3 even though I hear they're cutting back on features to try to release it, and of course, it's going to cost a small fortune. Personally, I'd rather just upgrade my PC. The PS3 will support next-gen media storage though, which is nice, since I understand blu-ray players will cost upwards of 1000 dollars.
