this is the only picture i could find of me with a septum ring in. the ears are at one inch here, and the septum is at 4g. at one point i had that up to a 2g, but didn't have money to get something for it that wouldn't fall out as i slept... so i left it at 4 and then took it out. i still have a good-sized hole there though. edit: the plug here are at 7/8ths of an inch. currently they are at 1&1/8th of an inch. don't plan on going bigger, but you never know. i planned on stopping at 4 guage... then 2 guage... and so on. |

That's awesome. I want my septum pierced. But I don't want to stretch it, furthest I'd probably stretch is to 1.6mm or 16g.

is a 16g piercing considered stretched?
septum REALLY HURT to stretch. i first stretched mine from a 14 to a 10, then i think i might even have eaten mushrooms for the first time when i stretched it from a 10 to a 6. i don't know for sure if i was on mushrooms, but when my buddy joe stuffed that 6 gauge spacer in there, my whole face lit up with pain, my knees buckled (i was, for some reason, standing) and water just poured from by tear-ducts. it was crazy... for about thirty seconds. after that it was fine and i could have pretty girls tie string to it and... uh... ummm... that's it. |

Haha, I think 14g would be too thick for my face, seen as I am a girl aswell. Stretched septums look alright on guys, but its too masculine for a female face I think. well my face . Hahaha, tieing string to it, class. It probably hurt as much because you skipped a size, I went up a size too quickly with my lobe and it ****ing hurt alot. Same with my cartilage I lost my barbell so had to put a 16g in a 18g piercing. It throbbed for about a week :|

I guess I just don't really understand the urge to get piercings and stretchings and different gauges. Giving birth was enough stretching of orifices for me. I go through life *avoiding* pain. All pain. Any type of pain. Paper cut pain. So what do you all find is the main motivation for having piercings? I never wanted any, not even in my impressionable younger years.
