I can think of several good purposes humans serve. Specifically males.

in all honesty, I meant what good purposes do animals serve?

Dogs for one, all the shiz they do (police work) wise, and the blind people dogs.

Why does this matter so much? Even if animals don't serve 'good' purposes does that mean its okay to eat them? Cause if thats the case, what do really old people do for us? Really? Should we kill them and eat them also?

It doesn't matter too much.

But if it weren't for humans dogs (and many other creatures) would have no purpose. Dogs were trained by humans to do police work. They were trained by people to help aid blind people.
The fact is if humans weren't around and all these creatures were left to their own devices, the earth would probably be a lot cleaner.
But they would have no purpose. some creatures woudl still go extinct and some of them would still get eaten.

And I personally believe that in some circumstances useless people should just die. And I think it's wrong to put any animal to rest since they can't give their consent. Humans spend so much time worrying about nuclear warefar adn biochemical warfare when it can all be avoided. Put some time, energy andmoney into communicating with dogs and other animals, then get back to me.
And I was serious about that old people thing. Once you've outlived your usefullness, can no longer live without machines or the aid of others you really should consider having the plug pulled. I also think everyone should have a living will to specify how to get rid of your body.

Purpose is subjective.

my opinion.. is that the ONLY acceptible reasons for hunting are..
Pest Control
Food (to avoid starvation, not out of choice)

kill a person and youre a murderer.. kill any other animal and youre a sportsman. Thats not right.

The murder of certain people could be considered justifiable action no matter what governments or judicial systems may say.
Case in point, Bush should be . . . disposed of and I would consider it justified despite what the American government and judicial courts may think.
