Smoker here. Yeah, it's a bad habit, but it is my only vice. I don't drink or do any other drugs, plus I finally broke my $500 a day hooker habit.....

i smoke.. but in no way am i a heavy smoker.
like, people i know, that smoke about 47 a day.
thats just plain silleh. i dont even think i could find the time in the day for that. jeez.
I'm pretty much a chain smoker. I buy tobacco in 50 gram packets and go through four and a half a week. That means I smoke close to 450 a week.
What's made it worse is my boss letting me smoke at work as I was outside more than I was in.

And to whoever it was that suggest tying people up and forcing them smokes.
It would never work. You'd run out of money and smokes before I got sick of it.

Funny though how alcohol addiction is an illness according to medical professionals, but nicotine addiction is just a dirty habit.
Having been an alcoholic, I know which addiction i'd sooner keep. Smoking doesn't destroy your family through violence nor does it cost you your drivers licence, your job or your every cent.

You'd probably collapse and/or die before I ran out of money.

Still, you could be right.. Maybe smoking vast amounts of cigarettes like how I explained wouldn't do any harm at all.. Afterall, what do I know?

Tell you what, get yourself around 100 cigarettes, cigars, or whatever the hell you smoke, and start smoking them 15-20 at a time, (depending on how many you can fit in). Make sure, of course, that you're taking deep breaths. Once you finish a batch, remember to stub each of them out on your face, and then immediately shove in the next batch.

Once you've done that, weeze over to the computer and tell us how you feel. If you still feel like smoking, then I will buy you a jumbo-sized cigar from ebay to appologise, as well as pay for the costs through PayPal.

Needless to say, we're going to need video footage of this. Mpeg is preferable.

I am a smoker and I know the risks, have quit three times before cold turkey and lasted sixth months (so I've got some willpower) and I know that I am not immune. I may die of cancer, but you'll probably get hit by a bus jogging!

Smokers only really bother me when they smoke without consideration for others around them. (Sure, sure, as the last poster admitted, not all non-smokers mind being smoked around - just the realistic and educated majority).

The talk of a complete ban of smoking is crazy. Despite the amount that smokers leech from the nhs here in the UK, they still generate masses of capital through tax. A ban in all public places would make much more sense. Like I say, so long as their smoke isn't effecting me or anybody else who doesn't wish to be effected, they have a god-given right to smoke in their own smoke-filled sheetholes. I also, btw, think suicide should be legalised. It's a god-given right, surely. (same logic).
Won't it be funny when you're the only person out of all us smokers here who contracts terminal cancer.

Don't laugh, it happens all the time.

Seriously though, I'm just saying that smokers should be considerate when they smoke.. Is that such a hard request to swallow?

Like I say, I don't have any problem with smokers in general, just so long as they aren't effecting me with their smoke. Other people's addiction/stupidity isn't something I deem worthy of jeopardising my health for.

Similarly, if you dislike wearing seatbelts in cars that's fine by me, just don't unfasten mine.

All the best.
