My favorite foods are New York steak (medium rare), baby-back ribs w/ my mom's homemade bbq sauce, chicken-fried steak, pepperoni pizza, and mushroom swiss burger.
If it's fast-food, I like Wendy's spicy chicken sandwich w/ a side of chili, yum.
Damnit now I'm hungry.

Cottage pie actually looks really, really good. I love mashed potatoes.
Cottage pie is absolute divine, if someone said 'prove English cuisine isn't cack!' I'd give them cottage pie.

I'm having sausage and mash for tonight's tea.

And because of you, I'm going to a Mexican restaurant next week after work. I'm going to try Fajitas, any other side dishes that are nice that you'd recommend?

Mexican is one food I need to explore a lot more.

Well, around here, the common side dishes are Spanish rice and refried beans. You'll also often get a basket/bag of tortilla chips with your order and some salsa or pico de gallo, sometimes sour cream. Check out the dessert menu, if they have one. Flan, sopapillas, and empanadas are all really good.

Good luck, and let me know how it turns out.

I'm not a sweets person. Carne Asada > Flan.
