I did forget to mention that the Mopar 340 in the '72 Demon was one of the hottest small blocks that Ive ever owned, I would go out on a limb and suggest that the Mopar 340 was just as bad ass as the GM 327 could be, but I wont go that far. The Pontiac 400 could be just as mean as all of the others too. There's so many good basic factory engines we could talk about, let alone all the Hemi's and high performance factory engines there are to choose from.

I couldn't agree more. It got me through for a good 6 years before i sold it for 500. The 318 will run into the ground if you let it. Mopar 340's are actually very compatible to the 327's i would venture to say that myself. That goes back to our original posts, there is really no reason to bad mouth any american muscle cars. They all have their attributes and deficiencies in one way or another. Thats why being able to manipulate it to your liking is so much fun to do. Nice talking to you guys, gotta get some work done. Take her easy guys. :band:

Ive always heard good things about 318's as well. 327's were pretty much extinct before my time but again all good things that ive heard about them as well. Ive owned 350's, 302's,289's,460 big blocks,305's and a couple of 6 bangers. I love some old school mopar particulary the Super bee dukes of hazzard car. I use to know a guy when I was younger that had a cuda that ran low 10's and was street legal. he was spraying Nos but still I loved that car. Like Hale was saying I just love american muscle cars in general.
