Sissies.

I spent a month camping out & volunteering in Joplin.

Spend 8 hours breaking down walls with a twelve pound sledge to have your only respite from the ****ing sun being a goddamned tent.

Joplin, Mississippi? Who were you volunteering for?

I went down by myself, not as part of a group; but I was organized via Americorp, at the VRC at MSSU for debris removal.

edit: it's "Joplin, Missouri", not Mississippi.

Oh, okay - at first I did assume you meant helping fix the recent tornado disasters in Missouri but then I looked it up and learned about Attala County in MS and I thought that's maybe somewhere near the "Mississippi River Forests."

Mississippi's probably hotter (just a guess) and I thought maybe you were helping build a school down there or something. Either way -- good job. I respect that.

I wouldn't know about Mississippi; Joplin is the farthest south I've ever been. I'm grew up a few hours south of Canada, though, so I was sweating so much my tennis shoes got salt stains.

Default Weather in Holland

3 Good reasons why you shouldn't live in Holland

1. It rains most of the time
2. The wind blows you of your bike from time to time
3. 18 degrC and rain outside on a SUMMER day?

that sounds great actually and having battled the winds from Chicago, I think I can handle the wind in Holland.

Honestly, it sounds like I'd love it there. I hate the heat and love moody, rainy weather. Plus, if I'm not mistaken you have pretty mild winters too right? Not super cold, not much snow?

Upper nineties. Heat index right now is 114 degrees. Miserable.
