What I love about acronyms is how people assume that everyone will decode their meaning. S.A.D.? Hmmmm..... let's see..... Sexually Acquired Disease? Nooooooo! :nono: How can you think that way?? It actually means Seasonal Affective Disorder, of course!

EDIT: It's just a (bad) joke. :o: On another note: What has happened with Marilyn? :)

FETCHER. 05-19-2012 02:05 PM

I think I'm going to go for the original Monroe I had in the beginning. But I won't be able to change til my laptop gets fixed so I'm pretty much screwed :(.

It's also sooooo sunny here today. Awesome day to be playing football with college :).

It's literally too warm for me.

ElephantSack 05-25-2012 11:48 AM

Already in the 90s down here in Tejas. We'll be seeing 110+ again this summer, I'm sure.

PoorOldPo 05-25-2012 03:08 PM

warm

jenny111 05-25-2012 08:28 PM

the weather is getting hotter where i live. no more cold days, but the more hotter it gets, the more i miss winter.

Brian Krashpad 05-28-2012 01:35 PM

Right in the middle of Tropical Storm Beryl.

No biggie, we need the rain.

And probably with another drought. Boo.

There is something really wrong when it's already hitting 100F in May.

Yeah, we've been getting more rain this year than last, though. Hopefully that will keep up. Helps keep things temperate.

What a miserable time we're having in northern England - pouring rain over the weekends and wonderful sun during the week, and we've had that every week since the Pageant.

Geekoid 06-18-2012 01:45 PM

I dislike small talk (you know "so, this weather we're having...."), but I'm betrayed by my fascination with weather.

It's grey and gloriously humid here today- 28 degrees (82 F). Calling for thunderstorms tonight (hopefully severe, we could use another extreme weather event around here, just to shake things up), and the risk is there 'till tomorrow. Can't wait until Wednesday; it's gonna be sunny and 31 degrees, feeling like 40. For Imperial countries, I think that's 88 feeling like 104. For June in Ontario, that's nice. If I could only get down to the beach that day.

My favorite time of year weather wise is from May to November. I get to keep track of the hurricane season, the tornado outbreaks, and any given severe weather event doesn't result in shoveling snow. The good times are just beginning as far as I'm concerned :).

I won't lie, North America has really got the better deal when it comes to weather. The temperature's generally hotter, and when I last visited I was amazed by just how long periods of blue sky would last. I'm also fascinated by the twisters and tornados you get in some places, terrifying I'm sure but amazing to behold.

Probably belongs in the bitch box but I've had an unbelievably crap weekend, feeling lie doing a bit of mountain biking to keep myself occupied with the waiting but here in the peak district there's a shower every couple of hours and I've honestly not seen blue sky since March.
However I was in surprisingly high spirits as the driving rain soaked me to the skin as I ploughed through the seas of mud that are omnipresent here, because I thought to myself that I must be the only lad in England brave/daft enough to attempt an ascent of Mount Kinder in such awful conditions. I didn't meet a single other person.

Have you been to North America in winter? I hear they freeze their nuts off. It always seems that the major gripe about the UK weather seems to always be the grey skies rather than the cold, rain or lack of long hot summers.

Funnily enough I don't really mind the cold very much, but I do remember seeing a picture of a lighthouse in Ohio by the lake which was completely covered in icicles to the extent that it looked like a scene in a fantasy movie...
The thing about the old "rotten English Weather" isn't even about the amount of rain (and being from Derbyshire I get more than everywhere else in England except Cumberland), but the fact that it's always dull and overcast, and even if it looks fine you have to pack plenty of waterproof clothing in the likely event of another downpour.

However to be slightly more optimistic, I remember reflecting whilst being drenched watching the Pageant that this must signal the end for that hosepipe ban hitting the London folk, which probably only effects one sixteenth of you anyway, but still...

The annual hosepipe ban in the UK must be one of the biggest jokes on the calender, I mean its not like we lack rain throughout the year.

FETCHER. 06-18-2012 05:13 PM

It was unusually sunny, perhaps it will start to brighten up :) yay.

LoathsomePete 06-18-2012 05:17 PM

It got up to 100 yesterday and only dropped to about 70 degrees at night and pretty much stayed there. When I woke up at 7 I was amazed how warm it felt outside. Fortunately it's not going to get like that again this week, except maybe one day, and then it's going to drop to the low 80s / high 70's which I can deal with.

Funny, since I always thought England had lovely weather. Moderate to cool year round, mild winters, grey skies.... I just like the melancholy of it all. But then again, people do say I should live there. Our winters here in Canada are intense. We probably get an average of a foot of snow to shovel every week in the winter (in southern Ontario, at least), and temperatures have been known to drop as low as -35 C.

But I would miss sunny days on the beach and the magnificent thunderstorms and extreme weather we get here. Southern Ontario is Canada's hot spot, and we get the occasional tornado. But it's always been a dream of mine to be a storm chaser! Tornadoes have fascinated me for as long as I can remember.

It depends on the region. Anyway, this is officially a heat wave (according to meteorologists), and it will last until next Friday.

Ok so the heatwave will last until Friday and then cool down to a more comfortable 38 degrees.:D

Weather down in Sydney is a random mess. Absolutely does not follow any of the seasons. It's damn chilli right now. Been raining for the past few days while sunny and fresh in the mornings.

Garrett 06-27-2012 03:32 AM

It`s 83°F with 63% humidity @ 4:30AM.......We are lookin` at a high 103°F today!

I would say about 30-33º C. Nevertheless, weather is f***ing disconcerting (I mean, to a layperson) in a city. For instance, there is a thing called urban heat island. And I'm afraid I'm one of the "victims" of that phenomenon.

Which part of Spain do you live in?

Yep that's true I guess would make sense right now. Incredibly cold for the most of it so far. Last summer was cold and raining as well, even the surfing/swimming industry were losing money. Previous winter was even warmer. Sydney pretty much had consistent days being a mixture of weather. Probably the reason we have climate tax.
