st.david or Dewi Sant was a celtic monk. he is the patron saint of wales.
 It is said that he once rose a youth from death (but i don't know what that means) and he magically rose a hill from the ground so he could be heard throughout the land and gave sight back to his blind teacher. he lived over 100 years. |

No, he was definitely named after George I, king of England (1714-27 AD). Even though St. George was born long before, it was just a fantastic bit of insight on the part of Sainty's mum.
