st.david or Dewi Sant was a celtic monk. he is the patron saint of wales.:)

It is said that he once rose a youth from death (but i don't know what that means) and he magically rose a hill from the ground so he could be heard throughout the land and gave sight back to his blind teacher.

he lived over 100 years.

No, he was definitely named after George I, king of England (1714-27 AD). Even though St. George was born long before, it was just a fantastic bit of insight on the part of Sainty's mum.
