Aw'righ'...well I am getting my new Ipod tonight, and giving the old one away, and I am wondering, if I "plug" my new one into the same computer, with the same I-tunes on it, will all the songs I had on the old one go into the new one?
|
I'm 90% sure you have to physically load them onto your ipod. That's what logic is telling me anyway.

ok, i'm not even sure if the boy is here any more but just the same, anyone else with rudimentary computer knowledge can answer...
so i got a flat rate account right, and i'm downloading tv shows and films. now, i would preffer to watch them on the tv so i wanna burn then on a dvd. today i downloaded nero 7.5.7 and tried to burn the dave chapelle show season one. it has about 4gb of data...and when i put it to burn...after about a minute of "processing data to burn" windows crashed on me. now here are my questions, i have a 2gb CPU, a 40Gb main drive ( plain old ATA ), a 200gb slave ( SATA through a PCI adapter cos my motherboard doesn't support SATA ) and 512mb of ram ( make that 700-and-somethin, i bought an aditional 512mb of good ol DDR ( again, the motherboard doesn't support DDR2 ) in adition to the pre-existing 512 but it's only showin 700-somethin...dunno why )....isn't that quite enough power to burn a DVD? i mean, what kind of a computer do i have to have to burn a DVD, one of them mega-fuckin-computers NASA uses?! i'm assuming some of you are burning DVDs...what configurations do you have? does anyone know why i might be having problems? ( in adition to the windows crashing when i try to burn a DVD, they often freeze when i do multitasking ( yes, men can do it to.....or is it because i'm gay?:-/) which never happened while i was just downloading music and had only one hard drive..... is it that my computer is having difficulties processing so much data ( tv-series and films bittorrent style ) or is the new hard drive connected unnaturally to the motherboard where the problem lies? help me solve this puzzle....do i need a new computer? |
Try something called DVD shrink my friend
also press ctrl alt del to see if anyhting fishy is running and if its a compaq or dell.. there lies your problem |

and we don't buy ready made computers here, we make a compilation ourselves.... ctrl alt del doesn't solve anything once your computer freezes....oddly enough...it used to...that's why i loved windows xp...just ctrl alt del and shut down the frozen program....now the whole system goes crazy.....methinks something is rotten in the state of denmark...but could it be? |

the computer sees the disk otherwise i couldn't download data onto it...but the repair man had some problems installing it as the master, said it didn't register...but as a slave it does......i swear, this shit only happens to me... |
well you could return it and get an ata no? do me a favor go into run>dxdiag and print the screen and post it

could it be that i haven't partitioned the 200 gig drive? |
hmm i highly doubt it, but ill look into it, because it should usually only be partioned when it has an OS on it, and you say you use your 40gig for that, it should just pop up in your my computer thing, then right click and get properties see how much is actually being reckgonized, because, some OS's canot suppoer more tha 200gigs
|
never before have i seen such problems with installing a fucking hard drive....why in the hell do they sell these fucking SATA drives if windows, the most popular operating system is having MAJOR FUCKING PROBLEMS WITH THEM?!?!i've formated my original disks cause obviously something was fucked, and reinstalled windows and it doesn't recognise the SATA drive....and the manual that came with the adapter is so fucking vague and unhelpfull i should fucking sue their asses for emotional damage!! yeah, just run the setup program, sure man WHICH ONE?!?! THERE'S A GAZILLION OF THEM ON THE GODDAMN INSTALATION CD!!SHIT!!! THIS IS GONNA TAKE FOREVER!!
well, at least my computer isn't crashing anymore....*shrugs.....commits suicide* |
is your computer plugged in?
jk did you load the drivers? |
yeah, i downloaded some shit from the PCI card's manufacturer's web site....didn't help...i'm just gonna go buy a nice ATA drive and be done with this shit...
|
^ you said you commited suicide. liar!
|

again with computer problems...i bought a regular ATA drive this time, tried to install it, computer freezes up....i have no idea what i'm doing wrong, please someone, help....
it says on the back of the HD to put the jumper to second place if you want to choose cable select, i put the jumpers on both drives ( the main one and the aditional one ) like that and connected the aditional HD on the same cable as the main one only with the grey connector ( just like it says on the back of the HD )... when i remove the new one, everything works fine, when i put the new one, the computer goes bezerk....*cries* |
Bump...
I have a bit of a problem. I recently restored my computer to factory settings, all my **** was erased. I got it all back after a week or two of work, oh and by the way, this is was due to a Trojan virus. So now, happy again, a fresh laptop with all my files. My norton antivirus expired, and since I'm a cheap ass too pay $70 again, I got no protection. After surfing the web, I got a new virus within a week. ****! It is something like ThinkPoint, or at least it was an icon that displayed. So my question is, anyone know how to get rid of it? I downloaded Malwarebytes and ran three scans, deleted the infected files, but still, it remains active. And what free Antivirus software do you guys know of or use? |
xEMGx there is a technical computer support thread pinned in the lounge already.
