tom said it right, the film is usually attributed to the country of it's producers, you don't actually think new zealand companies could have produced such a monster do you? the company that pays for the film is the one credited for it. new line cinema is american as far as i know. otherwise you could say that the matrix is an australian film, or that mary full of grace is columbian ( it's filmed entirely in spanish but it's still an american film ).

no, but you're a very small country and i would imagine you don't have many production companies that could set aside some 300 million dollars for the making of one film....i could be wrong though...

That wasn't what I was getting at. I just get annoyed when people automatically assume because NZ is a small country we're incapable of anything except sheep farming.
