Ive seen this guy before.
My algebra II teacher showed us some of this guys work.
They all look 3-D, but only because they were photographed at the right angle, if the shots were taking at a different angle, the pictures look like ****.

but thats the point, they were drawn at the precise angle so you could get the shots and at exacly the right proportions..which is an extremely skillfull gift.
