It is rather slow, and boring, and you have to drive to go to anywhere cool. Although I do like my house. It is in the middle of the woods so I don't have a highway for a front lawn. And yes there are many ignorant rednecks and though they be few there are some non-ignorant rednecks.

Newfoundland.
its a island that once was part of the UK, now belongs to Canada.. sucks, i think newfoundland would have been much better off left owned by the dear queen. anyways.. i live in a town of around 11,000 people.. where the town is so small theres lots of rumors all the time about random people. there's a rather large drug scene going on around these parts. this a middle class town.. upper middle class, in saying that this town is known for being snobs. i'm not really one of them.. my family.. were poor.. now were middle class.. sucks..anyways most people in this town are rather ignorant asses.. the town is actaully rather nice.. not to big not to small, but the people in it is why i hate it here.. we now have New Yorkers moving here, because during sept 11 this town took in alot of people from the airlines because of what was going on... and this town was then known for being pleasent and a great place to live. thats about it. we have two malls and one threater (in the first mall).. with a ripped screen on it.. which also sucks. we have a walmart that stands alone.. thats the only place in this town to get cds which also sucks cause walmart only gets mainstream bands all of which i don't listen to. we have two second hand stores which i love.. i buy random bits of clothes there and rip it up and make my own.. and or buy really old 60's 70's clothing.. my grandmother works at one of them so sometimes she gets me stuff.. anyways.. i'm cheap but i don't care. in fast foods we have.. KFC, Micky D's, Subway, Fish N' Chips, had A&W, marry Browns, Greco, Pizza Delite, and thats it.. then the only other places are hotel's.. we don't have any fast food places in the malls.. |

Right next to Norfolk which is the biggest Naval base in the world, so a large majority of the city consists as a suburb for the neighboring Norfolk. Has a couple of military bases, and the "largest stretch of resort beach in the world". It's pretty interesting, something is always going on, but after 15 years here it's worn on me. But I can't think of a place I'd rather live.

Calgary
big city, little over a million people now, got a pretty good music scene here too, which is cool, plus COP has a rediculously good park, which is really fun to hit up on weekdays. Aside from that, I think I should mention my mountain, Fernie, British Columbia. Awesome ski town, total relaxed laid back vibe, and amazing skiing. what more can I say? Most of the locals are really cool, but some of the older ones (ie: 40+) can be real a**holes to us "tourists" from calgary. To them, it doesn't matter that I spend 30+ days a year at fernie (all while going to school full time and working part time) or that I've been skiing there for 8 years now, I'm from calgary, and thus don't deserve to be ruining "their" powder stashes. wanks. but like I said, 99% of the people in fernie are awesome, so I wont complain.

im from a small town called hallsville, missouri. buts its only about 10 minutes away from columbia,MO which is pretty good sized (about 100,000 ppl). our local music scene is alive and budding, and im close enough to KC and STL to attend their sporting event and concerts.
