I bought Office 2010 instead of Windows 7. My dad's far from happy that I blew the £100 he gave me for xmas on it. Basically I just treated it like I had £100 to fritter away on w/e i wanted which now he's seen the reality of he's given me the 'I haven't got £100 for you to just squander.'.. So I said 'Well. why did you give it me?' He said 'that's what your brother wanted.' I said 'well I din't want anything and told you that.'
It's a 3 licscense version and I thought I could put it on ebay for anyone to use the remaining 2 licsenses. I can't. So I'm lumbered with it. I said 'well you might as well put it on yours' to which he responded 'I don't see why i need to bother.'
I have had the good sense not to point out that if it wasn't for one little difference (the autotext on quick parts) between office 2007 & 2010 I wouldn't have touched it with a barge pole!! *uneasy grimace* so, yeah. I've just spent £100 on autotext! I do like autotext though and missed it on office 2007.

My son almost got a thick ear for Christmas.
I bought the kids a laptop, until my son sat on it today and fractured the screen.
I don't know how I did it, but I managed to blag a replacement within 2 hours of it happening.

Result!

Couldn't. It'd been used since Christmas day and it wouldn't have took a genius to work that out. So I acted a bit thick and told them it had a slight blurry section at the bottom of the screen, which I put down to the screen warming up, or sumfink.
And that it just got worse everytime we open and closed the laptop.
The guy who fancied himself as a bit of a smartarse informed me that the "blurry section" can only have been a hairline crack and that opening and closing the laptop "compounded the defect".

Really? I said.
Oh yes, most probably. He replied.

And he went and got me a new one.
